Would You Step In If You Saw A Guy..thrashing His Wife...? Before You Answer Read This

I have never drank.BUT i have been a part time bartender to make ends meet.Tips are good (most times) and most drunks are easy enough to handle..Also i enjoy doing it,go figure.

Now we just had MadiGras and here in St.Louis we take that stuff serious...lol..we have the second largest Madi Gras..of course New Orleans has the biggest....

Okay i had worked about a 11 hour day, made good money was just tired and wanted to get home and change...had my monkey suite on vest,jacket,tie,etc..WELL i was walking to my truck and i here a noise like someone hitting and dang tether ball..i come around the corner and this guy has a handle full of ( i find out later ) his wifes blond hair.Which isnt all the way blond anymore because of the blood..Just for a heartbeat i almost drew down on him ( i had my Sig P220 )..Then i considered just getting in the truck, but couldnt. They were next to a dumpster kinda outa sight,so i came up on his blind side and just shouted 'HEY!!' and he spun and looked at me and i hit him, hard.Well he folded up and started down i grabbed him and rode him down my leg.I didnt want his dang head bouncing off the concrete.

Well as im standing there i dialed 911 and gave em a brief rundown and hung up to go check on her.Next thing i know she is on my back like a monkey on crack stabbing me with a finger nail file...yep a metal finger nail file..Someone other than myself must have seen it and called the cops becasue in 10 seconds there was two cop cars..They pull her off my back and he is start to come around so it got crazy. After about 10 mins of conversation it was all sorted out and she is still bleeding like crazy..they are sooooo drunk they are now crying and hugging..HE wanted ME arrested. The cops had a little common sense and told them that we WOULD ALL just go to jail..I didnt really get hurt. The jacket and vest took most of the damage but i was still bleeding in a few spots, but i just wanted to go home.

I started to walk away and the sergant that ended up there kinda pulled me to one side and started laughing his butt off. I didnt see anything funny. He just wanted me to know that there is a reason cops hate going to a domestic dispute because crazy crap goes on all the time.He said he knew i was telling the truth..He then warned me next time call 911 first not after and maybe i should consider not getting involved if there is ever a next time.

If there is a next time it will have to be BAD before i step in and i will have my gun in my hand, because someone will have to killing someone before i play Dudley Do Right again.

Oh and what made me think of this is was i was just working out and all the d**n places she got me were itching and burnin' ...

Some good advice that cop gave. You never fully understand those situations until your in the middle of it. Glad it worked out and you made it home.

I'm calling 911 and letting them deal with it. Just like in your case, the man and woman were fine after the fact and she attacked you for stepping in. He could have just as easily as shot you if you weren't Mike Tyson.

Should a let his head bounce off the pavement. Why jack someone and then coddle them. Gotta play for keeps. That wouldn't fly for one minute down here. As for the broad. Once the file comes out its on. Pimp slap that *****. Never use a closed hand.

Truthfully. I would have gotten involved. Wouldn't have caught him on the way to the ground either. Only thing he would catch is my boot once he smacks the ground. I imagine it would be hard to pick your teeth up with broken fingers. I think you showed a lot of restraint in not stabbing the female. I don't think I could a done that. Cops or not.

Might have had a good reason to hit her

Pretty pathetic statement.

A man never lays a hand on a woman.  Ever.

You did what you thought was right and that is what matters....glad you were safe and no worse for the wear.  I have stepped into a few of those types of situations and luckily it never came to anything physical and they stopped.

There is no reason to ever hit a woman....

If they are arguing then ill walk, but if he's hitting her, I'm gonna do what you did and I'm NOT GONNA BE GENTLE AND HAVE ANY REGARD FOR HIS WELL BEING.

I've been a cop and have had women turn on me as you did, but the majority of the time they haven't.

My point is, you don't know of he's gonna hit her hard enough to kill her or knock her down and she hit her head on a curb and die. Ill take the risk and stop it before someone gets hurt. And if the suspect gets hurt, welll...its collateral damage....above all

..feelings aside... I can't witness something like that and not put a stop to it before somone gets seriously... Besides I might be the one to stop something and see that he goes to jail before he hurts her down the road.

I'm a gun carrier but im very careful in situations like that... Sometimes I feel like I'm not gonna elevate it to that until its absolutely time.

While I agree it's not right to hit a woman, ever, there are boundaries that can be crossed when a woman is beating on a man...

I took a couple good right crosses to the chin one time, I didn't hit back, but I can't say there wasn't an anaconda squeeze given.

Name one.

Dude, I've noticed a few of your posts over time and have saw that a few of them are very edgy...and I've kept my mouth shut.... But that is over the top dude. In fact, that's just plumb wrong.

What the hell are you thinking

Some of you guys saying you wouldn't hit a girl who's trying to kill you?

I would like to think that in the majority of cases the man is stronger than the woman and can leave the situation or subdue her, but yes, in a matter of life or death the gender of the aggressor is irrelevant in my mind...

Hit no.

Bite, slap, stab, shoot. Yes

Give the boot? Depends if she's bigger than me. (Doubtful). Or if dude looks like a lady!

Nope, not at all.  But I'd have to fight my instincts to do otherwise.

Why?

A few years ago I witnessed a head on collision right in front of me. Naturally, I stopped to help, called 911, helped stabilize the victims, directed traffic until the police arrived, etc.  What did I get for that?

I was harassed by 3 insurance companies, state patrol, local police, and the state department of transportation - multiple times by each for statements...over and over and over again.  Then subpoenaed to appear in court multiple times as a witness at my expense (loss of work time).  And at one point I was named as a defendant to a lawsuit (which was dropped later).

It made it very clear to me that it's not worth the hassles and harassment to get involved in anything.

Next time, I'm looking the other way and getting the heck out of there before anyone fingers me as a witness.

Sorry, but that's the sad state of today's world.

well thanks for the interesting responses..let me answer a cple of things.

Not Mike Tyson, but i have trained on and off my entire adult life in interesting ways to defend myself ( dont want to sound like a mall ninja )

People can die from the impact of hitting the concrete if they go down limp,i have seen it. A skull fracture is deadly sometimes.I didnt want to kill the guy just make him stop.

I have never and will never hit a woman. In almost 31 years of marriage i have never even had that thought run across my mind.My father taught me MEN dont hit women, period.

I am a moron i suppose as i sat here and reread this is know in my heart i couldnt watch anyone get pummeled.Yeah who knows what happen to get it to that point.BUT ask yourself this if someone died when you could have saved them could you ever look at yourself in the mirror again.I know my answer.

Oh and Raider you crack me up.

Don't know what I'd do without actually being there.  I do know that I don't play Billy Baddass on line or in person.

In 1984 ( I was 16) I came home to see my neighbor and tenant in the ditch being kicked by her ex boyfriend.  I called the cops, grabbed my shot gun and went to stop it.  One round in the air and a pump finally got his attention. Made him sit cross legged until the deputies arrived.  This was back woods NC and one of the deputies told me I should have shot him.  I'm pretty sure he meant it.  You don't get away with beating on women in that part of the country.

Two weeks later he was the boy friend again so Dad evicted her.

If it were to happen now, I would be tempted to walk away but would not be able to.  I would try to get him to come at me and then DROP him for good.  With our current sheriff Grady Judd, I would probably get a medal.

This is how we roll in Polk county Fl.

FLORIDA - An illegal alien, in Polk County , Florida , who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop, ended up "executing" the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed.  A state-wide manhunt ensued.

The murderer was found hiding in a wooded area.  As soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire on him.  They hit the guy 68 times.

Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor, undocumented immigrant 68 times.

Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel:  "Because that's all the ammunition we had."

Could I suggest that the next time any of you come into contact with a LEO, even if his little red light is blinking in your mirrors, that you thank him for doing many of things we shouldn't or couldn't do?
