tommiller76 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Here in the northeast, winter doesn't seem like it will ever end and while I have been able to really put a lot of work into my cold water presentations I have also had plenty of time to try things that I may not have tried in years past. I read an article not that long ago about trying different things and getting outside of your comfort zone every once in awhile and so I did just that. With bites few and far between I had enough time to wonder what other strange or odd things you guys may do to catch fish. I'm not talking about just tweeking a tried and true method for catching cold water bass, but true off the wall presentations that may or may not have caught fish. If anyone has any good stories or truly strange presentation they have used or still use I want to hear about it. In the mean time good luck and be safe... Quote
daiwaguy Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Sometimes I get out of the boat and slowly swim up behind bedding bass and just hang out for a bit. I like to try and become one with the cover. When the fish lets its gaurd down I attack. I reach out as fast as possible and lip it. Then I swim it back to the boat show the guys and realease it. 60% of the time it works everytime. 1 Quote
fishva Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I spent more time than I'd like to admit learning how to pitch this winter. In the backyard. My neighbors think I'm insane, I'm sure of it. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 All but two of my reels have been totally cleaned and rebuilt. Cork has been cleaned, refilled and sealed. A couple rods are getting a few guides rewrapped. Waiting on my line delivery. Quote
