daiwaguy Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Tourney this weekend anyone been down since the weather has warmed up over the last couple weeks? Quote
conorsixtakc Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Fished it 3/7-8, water temps were still mid 30s at 7mm and couldn't find a bite. It was also more than 6' under pool, the lowest drawdown I've seen there in a long time. That being said there are some jerkbait veterans down there that I'm sure know more than I do! Quote
Nice_Bass Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 water is around 45f jerkbaits and jigs on 45 degree angle windy banks should pick you up a few. What area of the lake? Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 The pattern on LOZ doesnt change for the most part from what I've found. Nice Bass is right. This time of year it will be a jerkbait, jig bite. Then it will change to a wiggle wart bite. From there it will go to a flippin/pitchin docks, then to a dd22 on main lake pts back to docks then back to the jerkbait. Thats the short version but pretty darn accurate base starting point. 1 Quote
daiwaguy Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Yeah it was a slow bite. Managed some bites on Jerkbaits with very long pauses between jerks 15 to 20 seconds. Picked up 3 on a watermelon shakey head in 8-10 ft fished slow. Also picked a few up on a white fluke fished like a dying shad. Last but not least caught one on a sammy. Fished all around Gravois Arm found a 100y sretch that had 51 degree water which was almost 5 degrees warmer than any other water we found. Ended up in 3rd in our club tourney. 1 Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Congrats on the finish. Sammy huh? that's a rarity. Quote
daiwaguy Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Yeah it was weird. I watched a dink run up and hit something on the surface and there were a bunch of shad shivering on the surface then they would dart down and slowly come back up. They did it over and over so I figured what the heck I had thrown everything else at them. Quote
