Blues19 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Has Abu Garcia resolved their issues with the Veritas? I bought one last year and it was great, bought another one this spring have yet to use it. Anyway, I was looking at them all at bass pro and all of the guides looked good, all of them looked straight. I was curious if anyone has tried a more recently purchased veritas to see if they had any of the issues that had plauged them in the past. I wasnt worried about getting either Veritas, mostly because I have heard great things about Abu's fantastic customer service. I have 2 more rods to buy and am considering another Veritas or 2... Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 I couldn't tell you if that is the case but it is possible. If they did fix their quality issues, at 79.99 that would be a great value. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to get another Veritas. Quote

If they do have their breakage issues resolved, I will probably get at least 1 if not 2 more now that they are $80. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 I have several that I bought last season, no issues. Look good, work fine, nice $100 rods.... Ever better at $80. Quote
frantzracing0 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 No issues with mine. I love them for the price Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 Ive read of breakage issues the last several months but not as many in the past. Quote
The Next KVD Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I've never had any issues with my any of my Veritas that I own. Quote
coachdog Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Checked them out at the classic sale during the rod trade in. Almost all the store had left had misaligned or twisted guides. Very disappointing. I have three Veritas two casting one spinning. Haven't had any breaking issues. Quote
TorqueConverter Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I picked one a few weeks ago. Even in MH, it is a very, very, very stiff rod. I can't cast a 1/2oz jig on it with any accuracy because the tip won't load up. It pitches very well but I may never be able to cast anything on it. Quote
churchcc12 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Just got a veritas last year, and for the price I think it's a great rod. Haven't had any issues with mine yet Quote
