Just picked up an insight spinning rod and seems to be a heck of a buy. It is lighter than most higher end rods and balances very well in the hand. I haven't had a chance to actually fish with it yet, but I did slap a practice plug to kind of get a feel for it. Seems as solid as several other higher priced rods. I know it isn't in the water but when dragging the plug back it did translate every little bump and movement very well. So if anyone is looking to add another rod at a great price right now order one before Saturday. Dick's has them online for 29.99 plus free shipping.

I just picked one up yesterday 7' 2" M and I agree it seems like a good buy. Tried it a little last night but will put it to the test this weekend, think it will be a keeper.

I played with one yesterday it was the 7'2" micro guide Spinnerbait/worm. Seemed like a decent deal to me. Fairly light and all the epoxy around the guides looked good. I would say for 29.99 and not fishing it that it is a heck of a deal.

Examine the rods carefully before you purchase. Majority of them I picked up had crooked guides and a few had a couple guides expoxied shut about halfway up the rod. I found a good one and still purchased as I was just looking for a cheap rod to work on a technique with and had a spare reel to throw on it. Good luck!

Got to go out to my neighbors pond today with it and it performed better than I expected. Was very sensitive and has plenty of fighting power. I was throwing a 1/4 oz missile baits warlock shaky head with a fuse 4.4 and caught the mess out of them. Even caught them biggest fish I've seen in there for several years.

For $28 I couldn't say no to a few of these rods. Not too sure if any of your had have the chance to compare the different lengths on these rods, but it feels like the 7' feels much more well balanced . Can I ask you guys/gals what you have paired up with the rod...? I am having a hard time finding a reel that will sit on the handle and balance well with it. The little twisty section is giving me a hard time. Thanks in advanced!!

Found one in Dicks today for 19.97.   7 ft medium heavy fast with micro guides.   Very light, and with micro guides for 20 bucks?   I don't care what the name is on it....it's coming home.   Just became by 5 year olds new practice bait caster.

Well, I guess that makes sense, but I find it odd that none of the guys

that bought the rods last year really followed up with anything positive

to say. At any rate, I'm sure it will work out fine for you child.

Not all people fish with Avids or are given gear to use and write reviews about.

I say if you like it, and it works for you, go have fun, regardless of price.

I see this was posted 2 years ago, however I just purchased one from walmart for $40. Overall Its a great rod for the price and very very light. I currently use it for spinner baits, and lighter  T-rigged plastics. It has held up well and my only complaint is the sensitivity of the rod. I don't really find it to be that sensitive. I also have a HALO Starlight, which is around the same price range and it provides a lot more sensitivity IMO. But for under $50 its a solid rod.

That was one of the things that I didn't like about the rods is the locking nut. It didn't seem to tighten down as well as the Fuji reel seats.

I just bought the 7'2'' Dropshot Pro Advantage spinning rod at Wal Mart for *** dollars . I rarely use spinning gear , maybe I'll give dropshotting a try . Problem is I never been on the lake and said to myself "  maybe a reverse carolina rig would work ".

I picked up the 7 foot spinner bait casting rod a while back and it quickly became one of my most used and liked rods I have. Paired up with a Quantum reel and 15 pound Seagar invizx florocarbon makes a perfect combo. Perfect for swimjigs more than anything really.

I see that I wrote my comment two years ago.  Well, my son is now 8 and still using it.  It's handled plenty of fish to date, and held up well.  Most recently it's been pulling bass out of the Cali Delta slop for my boy.  The reel seat thing is and always was an annoying problem.  It doesn't come loose, but it does wiggle.
