I have 2 Quantum cabos and 1 Quantum boca, the anti reverse was acting up on my boca.  Still under warranty I sent in a week or so ago, explained the problem and wrote for an additional charge I'd like to upgrade to a cabo.  A day later an on line invoice was sent to me stated Fed ex was delivering, there was no charge (shipping free too) and the invoice said issue resolved.  The tracking indicated delivery set for Friday, I get home today and it's been delivered by the USPO.  That really surprised me, but the big surprise was that they sent me a brand new cabo 40 instead of repairing my boca.

That's sounds an awful lot like Great Customer Service to me.

But how can that be ?  I mean after all, we are talking about lowly Quantum here -

Thanks for sharing - I've used their gear for a Long time and have Always been impressed by the products and the service.

Always good to hear examples of outstanding customer service.

I seem to remember hearing about one highly accomplished bass fisherman who uses Quantum products????

Now who was that???

I honestly don't know if it was a mistake or just great service, but I'll take it...............lol.

Problems never seem to cease, besides the new reel my old boca spool with line was sent back as well.  I could have just used that loaded up spool, but you know I have to put new line on.  Run out to Dick's and the line selection was dismal, wanting 20# braid no 300 yd green PP was in stock, I bought yellow on sale for 19 bucks, hoping my snook aren't offended..........I do use a leader.

Now I'm looking for a new rod, don't care for the 8' Okuma I've been using.

I'd like to suggest the St Croix Tidemaster Inshore line - nice sticks.

It's nice to hear that Quantum has vastly improved their customer service. I've always liked their products, but was put off by a horrible experience with customer service. I'll be looking at them again.

I appreciate the suggestion.

My 2 favorite rods in my arsenal are Star stellar lites and Hurricane redbones, I can get an 8 footer with both brands.  The Stars (I haven't seen 8' in person yet) are versatile, a mh 10/20 1/2 -3 oz and hvy 15/30 5/8-3oz. both fast tapers. The redbone is a hvy 15/30 1-2 oz, less versatile but I wouldn't throw anything less than 1 oz and overloading is way of life here, so 2.5 or 3 oz wont be a problem.  I'm leaning toward the redbone, which I have seen, has the same butt length as the redbone I used to catch the fish in my avatar the other day.  A 7'6 mh 10/20 lure weight 1oz, I was using a 1.5 oz sling jig.  All said, I'm no rush.........lol.

I worked for a Star dealer a few years back - fished them quite a bit - off the beaches and off the rocks.

Nice rods.

That is awesome to hear and also smart for business since I would imagine you will not hesitate buying quantum in the future.

I have heard similar stories of quantum replacing rods and reels that had either limited lifetime warranties or were just defective which is something that can happen with any brand. Quantum has a reputation for going above and beyond in the last few years to satisfy customers. It seems most companies are standing behind their products and going above and beyond what they used to do since each major brand keeps adding more models and house reels like Bass Pro, Academy, Cabelas, and even Gander Mountain are putting out excellent quality reels and rods at great price points. A rep of bad service or discontinued models without parts available is a tough rep to shake and with the internet chat rooms like this, any bad press, or good press will be "Truth" to many who read.

Quantum and Okuma have been great with any issues I have had, and Gander Mountain actually took a reel back and replaced it with a new model that my friend purchased...While in the store, I am impressed with the Elite Series rods that Gander is selling. I know that They have Torray Blanks and *** here in Tampa is making many of the newer products.

My main barracuda rod is Quantum Blue Runner about 60 bucks.  7' mh 1/4- 2 oz lure weight, being a dedicated rod I only cast surgical tubes that are 1.5 oz.  Great distance and many 45-50" fish caught with more than enough backbone.  Why this model was discontinued I don't know, just hope I never break it.
