ChicagoEd Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Saw that BPS has their fluoro XPS on sale. Anyone use this line? Is it decent? Looks like a great deal but I have no experience with this line. Quote
Stingray23 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I have used it. It is pretty good. Decently manageable and strong. Too much memory without line conditioner. Apparently, they have changed manufactors and its now being made by Seaguar. My favorite fluoro hands down is Seaguar Invizx. Quote
Grantman83 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 It used to be made by Toray I believe and now seaguar. Both are solid companies and though I am sure their BPS formula will be different than their normal stuff, most people say it is a good line. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I have been using the XPS Flouro for 8 years on the Potomac in 14 an 17lb and have no problem with it at all. The BPS sale is the time to stock up. I do hose it down through out the year with KVD Line and Lure Conditioner. I really find it pretty limp with no casting problems at all. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 The BPS fluorocarbon is a great line especially when it is on sale. It is a little less manageable then some other brands but nothing a little KVD L&L can't help with. Quote
doyle8218 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I have used it in the past but as a leader - nice line. Quote
rawjuice Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 new line is made by seaguar, hands down my favorite abrazx/invizxx, just spooled my jig rod with the new bps line and seems to be great quality Quote
TorqueConverter Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 If I'm not mistaken, the buy 2 get the 3rd free deal on XPS fluorocarbon, was on the KVD XPS fluorocarbon. I wouldn't assume it's the same stuff. Quote
McAlpine Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I wouldn't take it if you gave it to me. I tried some a couple years ago and while it was decent line I kept having break off's. The next season I went to inviz-x and found out that the XPS had problems with kinks in the line due to how they were spooling or something. They kept it pretty quiet and I certainly never got my money back for that bad line and even though they knew they had a problem they still sold out all their stock. Bad way to do business but about what you can expect from BPS. Quote
frogflogger Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Cabelas has a flouro made by seagaur that is on sale online regularly - pretty good line. Never used the bps brand. Quote
719BassFishing Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Great line! I would get it on sale while you still can. Quote
BobP Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I've been using it for about 10 yrs. Never a problem with 6lb-17lb versions so far. Is it the best line ever extruded? No but if you buy it on sale like now, it's hard to beat for price vs performance. Quote
Iluvsmallies Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I bought some for leaders I will see how it holds up Quote
rawjuice Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 the old line is the white label stuff, the new one that just came out is yellow and purple i believe, that is seaguar made, should be better than previous Quote
