Mid-South Angler Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 File mob got me thinking, What are your favorite least expenise lures? I have consistently had luck with a .99 cent rooster tail looking minnow head with a spinner around it. It has a treble hook and comes in two or three different sizes (not a very good description I know) I get them at walmart, Yesterday I went out for about an hour and caught 5 brim and 6 bass all on this same lure. In one hour!!! I have caught bass, crappie, brim and catfish all on this lure. Best all around bait, I can take it anywhere and usually catch something. This is the lure I keep on the small spinning reel and rod I keep in my truck at all times in case I end up by a pond somewhere. Matt Quote
BucketmouthAngler13 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 A $1.75 Lucky Strike spinnerbait. I've cought some of my biggest bass on them. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 5, 2007 Super User Posted April 5, 2007 Fat Ika, $0.75 retail! On average, I would guess I catch between 10 & 15 lbs of bass per lure. They come ten to a bag and I have about 15 bags. I hope to run out of the ones I have and buy some more. : Quote
liquidsoap Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Drop shotting Creme worms.. 99 cents a pack. It will last me a few days. Quote
flyphisher # Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 "Prototype" jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and soft plastics 8-). One of the perks of your fishing buddy(part-time tourney partner) owning a baitshop, making lures, and sponsoring you. ;D Quote
norm2525 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I would say my favorite inexpensive lures for bass are zoom super flukes and homemade jigs. If I lose one out about .75 cents. For trout, I love thomas colorado spoons. For creeks, rebel crawfish and crickhoppers. Cant go wrong. Quote
Davefromwarwick Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 my favorite inexpensive lure is a hula poper i found while fishing my local pond, it looks like it is hand panted the pattern looks like a bird. ive caught so many fish on this lure i cant count, the best part is that it was free. ;D Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 When I got back into fishing a couple of years ago, picked up an assortment of 50 spinner buzz baits off ebay for $15 with shipping. Looked like they were some kind of knock-offs for bulk sales at shows. Anyway, have a lot of success with these and at about $.30 each, well worth it. Although, I like the deal that juggalo got better. Eddie Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Found a Rapala broken back blue/white. Have used it for years, caught a ton of fish on it. Lure was essentially free to me... Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 5, 2007 Super User Posted April 5, 2007 Strike King 1/8 oz. spinner with one colorado blade. Under 1.75 ea. Quote
TrickyVT1887 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Couple weeks ago fishing hot side of lake anna caught a fish with a spot remover in its mouth, and i'm still catching fish on the jighead. Actually convinced me to buy a few packs of them too. I think the baitmonkey put the jighead there on purpose. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 5, 2007 Super User Posted April 5, 2007 7" Power worm, 35 cents each. The last for more fish than senkos or ikas, are cheaper, and I use them for spinnerbait trailers when they are too torn up to use on a t-rig. Lots of bang for the buck. Cheers, GK Quote
