CTGalloway21 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 like everybody else. RES. I also like the Yozuri rattlin vibe and Spro Aruku Shad Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Mostly Red Eye Shads and mostly in 1/2 ounce. Color? Does it matter... I use Sexy Shad, Orange Belly Craw, Chartreuse Baitfish, Ghost Minnow, and other colors. Actually, my 9.5 LMB PB was caught on a..............wait for it...............Academy H20 Express "Rattlin T" in blue over chrome. That bait is somewhat of an XCalibur XR50 clone... 1 Quote
fish365 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 live target golden shiner, live target bluegill and red eye shad green tomato in the winter and chartreuse sexy shad in warmer water Quote
paangler13 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Red eyes here too.... Sexy shad, bone. That is my go to, throw it at anything lipless. The Cordell spots run a little shallower then the RES, and i will use them over grass if needed. Plus if you can Find any of the old spots, they are a "one knocker". I have turned bad days good with those! I used the rippin rap a lot last year. The Bass pro silent version, and the rattling caught a lot of fish for me last year. I have some rattlin rapalas, and the will work once in a while too. Thats the best thing about lipless baits, they are alot of cheap ones, so you can try a bunch of them and see what works! Good luck! Jim Quote

Super User tomustang Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 Xcalibur Red eye shad I have other models but don't fish lip less much Quote
tholmes Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 All of them! I use lipless cranks a lot, and I probably have at least 6 different brands in my tackle box at all times. There are subtle (and not so subtle) differences in fall rate, vibration, etc. that can make a difference. Colors? That's easier. 1. Chrome 2. Red craw 3. Sexy shad 4. Everything else. Tom Quote
doyle8218 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Xcalibur's have amazing finishes and just catch em. Red eye shads are pretty solid as wellI agree. Quote

Curtis B. Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Haven't tried any yet, but stocked up on them this past winter... I will say that my Xcalibur ones sure are pretty! Quote
BassObsessed Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 The Aruku Shad in Perch color is deadly. It works real well in one of my ponds and there's not even perch there . Quote
Hogsticker Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Yo Zuri vibe is pretty killer too. Gold with orange belly for smallies. Going against the grain here. I have no love for the red eye shads, or many SK hardbaits for that matter. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 22, 2014 Super User Posted March 22, 2014 I have a bunch and they all have a specific condition in which they get used. Cotton Cordell super spot, royal shad or royal chrome and blue shiner, these are the best when you need a bait to vibrate at slow speed. Rapala Clackin' Rap in silver or gold, these are loud one knockers that do well in cold water when it is clear. The Xcalibur one knocker in lemon lime or tilapia for stained water in late spring, and a few others for good measure but these are my work horse baits, and the rattlin rapala is one that works really well in certain area for me as well.
