How could you not like this??

Taste like rubber , that of an inner tube which has been used for several years and then patched and ran again for several more years !!

I may not have had it prepared correctly , but I am not willing to give it another go either LOL !!

^ Seriously, you're missing out.  Properly prepared calamari is amazing.  One of my favorite things to eat actually.  I've been to a few places where it's cut really small and fried to death, so I'm going to assume that's what you had.  Here in CA, we get fresh humboldt calamari caught locally.  It is amazing!

Calamari ....YUUUUUUUCK !!!!

DUDE!!!

If you ever make it to Chicago, there is a Greek Restaurant called Psistaria on Touhy Ave. in Lincolnwood that makes calamari that melts in your mouth. By far the best I've ever had..

I haven't had to many things that were that terrible but if i was forced to pick it would be a wheatgrass energy shot thing.  My buddy raved about them and how they are instant energy....tasted like what i would imagine licking my front yard would taste like after i cut the grass.

This is coming from a guy that has eaten any thing put in front of him. I have eaten weeds from the lake. Drank lake water. I have eaten hearts of many animals. Done the Buffalo wild wings hot wing challenge. Eaten rocky mt oysters. I have had raw fish many times. I also drank milk that was a month past its good date. The milk still smelled and tasted fine.

The only thing I could not eat. Was some walleye at a local place. For some reason it tasted a mix of mud, sea weeds, dirty water, and what ever they spiced it with. For some reason that almost made me throw up.

I once was served, in Germany, fresh blood sausage that was still warm.  Took about 6 beers to get the taste out of my mouth.

Slone I love the food in Chicago. I don't know if I've been to your Greek place or not, but the best Calamari by far I've ever eaten has been in Chicago. It is kind of like pizza there-some may be better than others, but it is all good.

Another vote for liver and onions. :sad78:  I remember this one old deer hunter telling me that he loved eating deer brain, he said he would mix them in with his scrambled eggs.I love venison but i don't think i  could ever attempt eating deer brain.

Because it's like eating the consistency of wax shoelaces!

The one & only time that I tried it was at a very nice resteraunt. All the other food was out of this world. Calamari= never again. Lol

Worst is a tie between stewed possom and nutria. Possom is not EVER meant to be stewed. Nutria is not EVER meant to be eaten. Even fried it taste disgusting. Liver is all on the top of my list. Its the trash can of the body. Its sole purpose is to filter toxins and waste from the bodies other systems. YUCK!

Escargot is actually pretty darn good. I will agree with you on tripe and liver though.

In fairness, I was 12 or 13 and my Dad brought in a tray of "stuff" for me to try. I was the unsuspecting teen. I took and ate. Thought it was a rubber boot. It was the texture that got me.

So it wasn't until, what, maybe last year, that I tried it again. Yeah, I shouldn't put it on the list, it wasn't that bad. Funny thing is, I love sushi, I eat unagi maki, raw tuna, raw ...whetevs. I even ate octopus. No biggie. So if I tried escargot today, I'd probably be fine with it. The others stay on the list, though. No ifs, ands, or buts. LOL

Powerbait is pretty disgusting too. Not that I made a snack of it but biting off a 1/4 inch was bad enough.

Squid soup in an Italian restaurant in NYC. They looked like little spiders and tasted and chewed like rubber.
