Which rod is the best bang for your buck and why? These are the rods I'm looking at.

- Kistler KLX

- *** ***

- Duckett Micro Magic

- Powell endurance

I would like to stay in the 150-250 range.

If your budget is up to $250.00 take a look at the Shimano Cumara if you want a bottom contact rod.

Kistler KLX hands down. The build quality is superb and on par with my customs. North fork makes some of the better blanks in the business. The Fuji K series guides have become my favorite, and its getting harder and harder to find full length cork handles. I now have 3 of them and all are immaculate and balanced. The price is beyond fair. Just great rods.

The only thing that I don't like is its only factory direct and an extra 20.00$ for shipping.

I fished a KLX vs a dobyns DX744 for 4 days in Mexico... The KLX is every bit as good as the DX.  In fact its my opinion that the DX series or rods, at least the ones I have, are pretty over rated and over priced in the current market.  Started with the dx for an hour or two... Rest of my trip I never picked it up.

I'm looking to try an *** soon, but as it stands right now, I think the KLX is the best bang for the buck.  One other option thats right there is an ALX rod... But theyre a bit more expensive.

Ive heard nothing but great things about the KLX, but I dont own one yet.  I do own alot of Powell Endurance rods and you can get them for $150ish at thefishranger.com.  They are superb rods IMO.

I don't have any experience with those, but I would choose Shimano Cumara and Fenwick Aetos.

Kistler KLX is the best rod that you put down, by far. It's easily as sensitive as the ***, at a lot less money. It's a cleaner build than the others as well. You can use a coupon code to save 15% which nullifies the shipping cost. At that price, it's pretty much a no brainer, unless you just like the looks of the other rods.
