Bass Boss Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 My wife and I are planning an excursion to the Orlando area next week. We have some family down there so we are going to stay for several days. I want to plan at least one day on the water. We are staying in the Winter Park area which is close to several great lakes. So if you had to pick one lake to catch some quality fish on or a trophy bass where should I go?? Toho is minutes away. The big "O" is a more than a 2 hour drive. Any suggestions?? Thanks! Quote
py8pointer Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Lake Kissemmee is supposed to be really good Quote
Super User MCS Posted March 17, 2014 Super User Posted March 17, 2014 I would hit Kissimmee. I heard toho was a dud this weekend from some folks. Big "o" isn't worth the time and effort when you have a TON of great places minutes away. Quote
teamshrink Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I fished Toho Sat. & Sun. Caught maybe 10, nothing big. There were a few 7+ pounders at the weigh-in. Kissimmee & Istokpoga are good choices. Personally, I'd get a guide and go to Stick Marsh. Quote
Bass Boss Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Thanks for the help. I made contact with a reputable guide in the area. One of my co-workers referred him since he's a family member so I should be good to go. If the weather will cooperate maybe I can catch 'em! Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I haven't heard reports lately but look at the Harris chain of lakes. There close to you and have big fish just like Toho. I would hit some spots on foot in your immediate area, there is a ton of smaller lakes that you can access. Go pond hopping, I would be hitting up the shore line looking for spawners.. Quote
Bass Boss Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 Thanks to Dwight I'm taking his advice and headed to a nice place to catch some monsters. I'll put some pic up next week after the trip. Thanks Dwight! Daniel Quote
