I use the Mesh type. I like the way they stretch a bit.

i didn't used to, but now i can't see not using the rod socks.... i transport my rods in the back of my car (camry) so the tangled mess that used to be without the rod socks is long gone....  i mean it can't do any harm.....

I always wanted to get the angler innovations rod/reel cover..... its all one piece and covers your rod and reel.

they are more expensive than others but look to do a great job, plus I have heard friends say "insert rod jacket brand here" has put fine scrathes on their rod blanks.

in protecting 3,4,5,600 or $700+ combos I dont think anything is overdoing it.

Which Rod Glove are y'all using? The regular mesh type or the neoprene Pro Series?

I use both rod & reel covers. I have a a few of the neoprene covers for my custom rods. I use the mesh sleeves on the rest. The advantage of rod sleeves or covers is that they help prevent tangles in a rod locker plus rod protection.

Socks also help from lines tangling when your carrying multiple rods at once.

I use The Rod Glove from VRX Fishing -- good Canadian company -- and the neoprene reel covers from Shimano (though I have a few Reel Gloves from VRX, not as much of a fan).

You could not pay me enough to use the rod socks from BPS. Awful stuff.
