95% certain that I'll be in town this weekend, after all.....unless there's lightning or 30+MPH wind, I expect I'll have the yak out Sat.  If not BRM, then Pohick or Occoquan Regional Park...somewhere wet, anyway....I'm getting antsy

That's cool.  I'd heard they were running already.  I bought some lite spoons and darts just for this 'event'

Alright guys, it's getting close to April 2 and Nitro will be coming out to fish with us on the res! The plan is to launch at Bull Run. Anyone that want to come on out and meet up, please speak up so we can get a plan together to arrange a spot to meet and greet so to speak!

If you have a pass and a key, we will be trying to get on the water a little after 7am or so. If you just want to run up the res, we will be fishing around the splits area and can figure out a time and place to maybe sit and float for a lunch break!!

im interested in fishing with you all, i dont have a boat, anyone need a buddy im free,  tight lines

I got up this morning and checked outside and really???

I thought they ( weather peeps ) got it all wrong, it was dead calm at the house this morning and I almost hopped in the truck and headed for the Quan, by 7am it had already picked up, where I live, it's like a straight shot off of the West Virginia mountains and with nothing between us it got going pretty good, how was it down y'all's way today? Anyone make it out ?

Just got home from Fountainhead.   They wouldn't rent us a boat...still too windy.  And they got power knocked out by downed power lines.

Took the kayak out from Pohick Friday and got a few short fish.   Yesterday afternoon I went out at Occoquan River and pulled 4 nice bass.  All between 2.5 and 4.  Sitting home now wishing we could have gotten out today.  Weather looks fine from my deck....but their are white caps on the rez.

Well, there's always the bar scene I guess LOL !!!

Glad to hear you had a good outing Dave, I'm also glad we didn't try and venture out because I believe everyone would have been miserable, it's always safer to error on the side of caution anyway IMO, I will remain hopeful that we can all get together and enjoy a day on the water sometime soon, wherever that may end up being.

I will come back after next week(s) tournament(s) and fill you guys in on where and how I was catching these fish. I'm sure some of you will already be able to figure it out, but all in due time.

I am taking it pretty seriously this year as well, been to Anna a bunch of times and haven't even got a line wet, the last two years I had only wet a line when I took out Veterens or family, this year I hope to improve by a big margin, I've studied structure, bait, bass and the behavior and growth of the bait and bass in Anna, I have kept an almost diary like log of everything.

Your doing a fantastic job Matt and your videos are really entertaining !!!

Another rough weather weekend coming up.  I was supposed to work Heroes on the Water Saturday, but even that got cancelled.  Probably get out on O rez or river Saturday, but its going to be a cold morning.

Or...maybe not....I just checked weather.com: SAT Apr 9, Low 27°, AM Rain/Snow Showers/Wind, WNW 27 mph.....ugh

March has been a month to remember for the amount of fronts we are experiencing and now April seems to be copying the same pattern, It seems last year our fronts would come through right as the weekend approached but this year it seems to be every second or third day, the wind has really not stopped blowing at my house with the exception of just a couple of days the last month and a half.

Well I appreciate that! It really is a fun place to fish!! There are some constants about it but the nice thing is you can always learn something with every visit!!

So....how'd the tourny weigh-in go?

My wife and I spent a few hours out there yesterday afternoon and landed exactly one fish.  :(

27+, 25+, 23+ were 1,2,3 and a few 6's brought in. Tough day for sure. We only had 3 for a little over 9lbs. Didn't help that I had 4 come off that felt VERY nice!! 3 of which happened in the first 20 or so minutes! Kinda set the tone for me for the rest of the day!
