Had a pretty solid pattern working, caught fish all day, just couldn't find the giants needed to make a difference!! Had a little over 20lbs and missed a bunch! Probably caugh close to 30 fish with only a few that didn't measure!

If it's just keepers you want to catch there are plenty of them! You have to work a little harder and cover a lot of water to get the good ones!!

It would be nice if that pattern holds up for our outing in two weeks but I'm really glad to hear you guys whacked em and had some fun !!!!

Thanks Sonny, I have no doubt fishing will be very good for that weekend!! If we don't get any torrential rain between now and then, there will be some spawning going on for sure!!

I was skeptical that the fishing would be anything close to what we had because of the big change in the weather but a lot of fish moved up during the week and were committed to staying put that's for sure. There were some fish caught deeper but a majority of the fish we fount were in fairly shallow water albeit very close to deep water!!

Alright guys, it's getting close to April 2 and Nitro will be coming out to fish with us on the res! The plan is to launch at Bull Run. Anyone that want to come on out and meet up, please speak up so we can get a plan together to arrange a spot to meet and greet so to speak!

If you have a pass and a key, we will be trying to get on the water a little after 7am or so. If you just want to run up the res, we will be fishing around the splits area and can figure out a time and place to maybe sit and float for a lunch break!!

11 days and counting down, looking forward to the Res, as a fellow NOVA or alumni, it's going to be good being in my old stomping grounds, although the Res was not part of my daily life, places like lake Jackson and others were, mostly it was the creeks that ran around Manassas park and lake Manassas itself, it's going to be a great day and I hope you guys can make it out!!

John, thanks again for everything, can't wait to see a great friend slinging a line man !!

I am still uncertain that I will be in town. ...I do hope so.  But I did want to remind all to get your new BRM key.  Locks changed last week

Hey, I just re-read your post Quan, we don't all need to be together man, you guys can fish anywhere you want, I will just be somewhere around the splits and maybe a little deeper depending on the trolling motor battery status, I like the idea of tying up together for lunch that's cool !!

I figure we can all meet up somewhere at the end of the day and swap some fish tales if you want but by all means just because I will be limited doesn't mean we all have to fish the same area, it's all good !!!!

Will be out that weekend but sounds like it will be a blast! Sorry to miss you guys, would have loved to meet up.

I don't want this to be the last time, although it's been a couple of years since my last trip I really enjoy the Res and its company of fine folk, we will do this again, just not sure when, shucks maybe we can make this like a yearly thing or something who knows or we may be able to do this again by fall, regardless, we will do it again and hopefully you can join us.

How's the Res holding up guys?

Looks like we got a front coming Thursday and Friday and a mess of wind on Saturday with partly cloudy skies, winds look to be right now @ 10-20mph, sounds like a challenging day but I like a good challenge, just gotta remember to make sure I have my anchor packed too.

READY FOR SATURDAY !!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it.  Got family stuff to attend to.

I took the kayak out from BRM for about 3 hours Saturday evening and got one good bite...nothing landed.  I sheepishly admit that I did spend a little time chasing big surface activity, most of which were apparently carp.   I did see one monster bass come all the way out of the water near some laydowns and worked to get her attention... for too long.

Sorry to hear you can't make it Chop, hey, family is always first, I'm a firm believer in that, hopefully we can try this again in the future and everyone can make it out but defiantly glad to hear you got some time on the water.

I know most of you guys have smaller boats so I think the question should be asked, is everyone ok with this weekend or do you guys want to try for a different weekend?

Safety is the first reason I am asking, secondly, some of us simply don't care for the wind either and hey, I get how aggravating the wind can be, just let me know what y'all want to do.

Well, that sucks! It becomes an absolute wind tunnel down through bull run with wind like that!! I'm pretty sure it would be just short of miserable to try and fish up there with that kind of wind!

So I can take that as a no? LOL !!

I use the weather channel app, just checked again and calling out 15-25mph during the day now, not sure what you guys have but check and see what you all are seeing, make sure mine isn't wrong.

It's one thing if it were a tournament but we are talking about going out and having some fun!! That forecast, is not fun!!!  I could go out and grind just because I want to try and stay on fish, but I want you (Sonny) to be able to enjoy it and not have it be a chore to fish! It's a big drive for you to run out here to only get beat up by the weather and beat down by the res!! Let's see if we can put together another day that makes more sense!!

i was truly looking forward to the weekend man, counting down the days I was, I can manage this new boat pretty decently with the wind, but, 25mph hitting us doesn't make it fun nor safe for anyone at all.

Look at your calendars and see when we can try again.

Me too!! April is pretty booked for me but will see if I can sort through some things to make a day happen!!

You could always try for a day during the summer. We could go out of lake ridge. Plenty of fun deep water summer opportunities close to the ramp! Would love for you to be able to experience a fun football jig bite or my secret bait!!
