Are you happy with how life is? Or are you just going through the motions? Do you live everyday to your fullest?

I am definitely happy with how my life has turned out. I've found my niche in life. I honestly enjoy going to work everyday. I enjoy spending time with my ever growing family. Honestly, looking back on it. I enjoy, now, the challenges I've gone through to get to where I am now. Dang sure didn't enjoy them at the time. I guess its part of what makes life so fun. You set your plan. Then adjust accordingly as obstacles arise. Where's the fun in traveling a straight line? The hills and twist and turns are what makes life so much fun. It seems if you take everything in stride and roll with it. Things tend to work out in the end. Maybe it's just my view on life. I don't know.

At 25 years old there is not a thing I would change. I love my job, own a house, and will soon be marrying my high school sweetheart. Yeah, i'm happy with my life!

Life is good, brother!  Enjoy it while you can because it's going fast!  So yes, very happy.  Work is work, but since most of us need to work, I'm fairly happy with my job.  Wife and kids are great and give me the freedom to fish as I see fit and how bad can it be if we are here posting about fishing.

Happiness is a temporary emotion. Joy however, is a state of being. I have found joy in life and I try the best I can, one decision at a time.

I would say I am only happy at work. Not that I enjoy the work. It keeps me out of trouble. Plus it gives me some thing to do. In till I can buy some land and build my house. Then build my shop. Work is the only reason why I am not sitting in jail right now.

Jail?

Well I ain't that bad off but I'm not too happy overall. I'm sure some warmer weather where I could just get outside would help a whole lot. I fished yesterday for two hours. It was the first time since last year. Didn't enjoy it due to 30 mph winds, but I made the best of it. Today we get 6 more inches of snow again. In my whole life I've never seen so many snows in one winter. I've had years with none at all. This year we're buried just one right after another. This really affects my work. Severe lack of work and funds has really dragged me down. And all this dreary weather makes it worse. I'm getting by, and not losing ground, but I'd sure like to try to move ahead instead of worrying and hoping for change. On the upside, family drama has been at an all time low recently. Maybe it's the cold weather keeping us all separated. Anyway, winter is depressing and I hate snow. Sick of it. Ready for this crap to be over.

I'll stick to fishing, yeh I could be a lot happier.  I'm catching lots big bruising fish now, I like it just fine.  I've been obsessed with peacock bass every afternoon, catching a few but no real size.  Miami is 70 miles each way, that's a long ride, so I haven't gone yet.

What a silly question.  Just having the opportunity to read and participate in "Raider's Rants" on this forum should be sufficient to make anyone of sound mind, and who is well balanced, "happy".

No.

That's because you aren't doing tax returns for a living.  One more month, and you'd be done for the year!   :laugh5:

I would agree that having joy comes from an understanding that life is full of challenges. Choosing to focus on the blessings we have while learning from the disappointments and heartbreak along the way is the key to happiness (or joy by Teal's definition) in my opinion. Abraham Lincoln is attributed with this quote: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be". That comes from a man who understood disappointment and heartbreak very well.

So yes, I have joy in my life. Life is good. It is also short. Enjoy the trip.

I've got a roof over my head, a decent, steady paying job that allows me to provide for my family, a loving wife, a healthy baby, I really have no right to be unhappy about anything right now :)

The rooster. Yea its that bad. I hate down time. While many people I know. Can sit around all weekend and do nothing. I can not. It got worst when I moved to the city. I never really had to munch problem. When I lived in the county with a 60x40 shop to play in.

Health & Happiness in life seem to go hand in hand.

Making both a priority works for me.

I have to admit , things are not where I would like them to be , not even close , but at the same time , life is what you make it to be , it's down right difficult and depressing in todays times if you allow it to be , remaining positive , focused on others close to home , I rarely think of myself and how I want things to be , yet I focus on others and how best I can help them , I feel grateful if I can bring a smile to someone , get a hug from my children , the simple provides so much more for me personally than anything else I believe can , I live for 4 words from the English language ... "I love you Daddy" , only then am I truly happy , I hear it a lot so yes , I am happy , very happy !!!!

Of course. Your favorite food is whiskey.

There are things in my life I wouldn't change for the world and other things I would give up in a heartbeat. Whiskey is not one of them LOL. Seriously, I make the best of the cards I am dealt with the hopes of one day becoming the dealer.
