WdyCrankbait Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hey everyone, with the up coming season I am looking to get a good pair of polarized sunglasses. I have found a pair of Costa Del Mars, Hammerheads that I like, but not find anything out about the lens or know of anyone that has Costas. If you have a pair of these what do you think? Also, do you know if they block 100% UVA, UVB, and UVC light? Thanks in advance. Quote
WanderLust Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Costas rock... At least the older pair I have does. Check this out: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewcostahammerhead.html I use Oakley gascans for sunny days and the older Costas (Amber Lense) for overcast. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Thanks, when it comes to sunglasses and getting a good pair to protect your eyes I do not skimp and want to make sure I get a good pair. Quote
SHW300 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Costas are great. I have two pairs with the 580 glass and plan on buying another pair with 580P this year. You will be happy. Quote
Bass XL Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I have some Hammerheads, they're the white with blue mirror lenses, and I love em. They're super comfortable. Have been everything and more that I expected from them. Just don't let them fall off the top of your head...That happened to me. Cracked a lens, cost me $60 to fix. Quote
Morelures Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I like my 580's allot but one thing I really find to be a pain is they dont have a fog resistant lens. When you first take them out of the case sometimes they will fog up on you, until they become the temp of your face. And if you do allot of cold water fishing and have a full face mask on as you breathe the hot air from your breath will make them fog us as well. Actually this is a major pain! Oakley has fog resistant Len's but I dont link how allot of there frames dont cover the bottom of the lenses. I found out that with out the frame covering the bottom of the lens, when fishing in a boat the glare shines off the water and will come up through the bottom of the glasses. I highly recommend trying them on before you make a purchase, all of there frames have a different fit and feel. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 7, 2011 Super User Posted February 7, 2011 You will love the Costas. PM sent. Quote
