Hello Florida anglers!

I am going down to the boynton beach area very soon, and i see on google maps there are TONS of neighborhood ponds that all look promising,

My question is: do most of these ponds hold big fish? Can i plan on possibly pulling out a 5,6,7 or maybe even a 10 pound bass out of one of these ponds?

Thanks!

Most of those neighborhood ponds are private and gated, you won't be able to get access.  There is a community up the street from me with a fishing platform and the residents stock bait fish in there.  I've heard stories of 10-11# bass there.  I know of a few places with road access, many will have no trespassing signs, or resident only fishing, usually it's ok but sometimes you may be asked to leave.  Some of these ponds are in the area of Jog Rd and Gateway.  Canals are open to fish.

I forgot to mention I am staying in someone's house in canyon springs area who is on a decent looking little pond, could there be big bass in it

yea just about every body of water you find will have some in it. I try to avoid "new" looking places with hardly any grass or cover. Usually there are fish in them, and you may get 50 of them but theyre all typically small still. I don't really go up to Boynton myself because Im already surrounded by canals or go to bigger water, but I know there are plenty of places around there.

Canyon Springs is only about 3-4 years old, all man made ponds.  My son in law lived in Canyon Lakes which was the first community there, caught some very nice fish there.
