I was thinking of getting a Lew's Tournament MG or the Tournament Pro. Are these two reels almost alike?  :Idontknow:

Lew's tourney Mg - more capacity, linear 5 magnet braking system, aluminum handle and star drag, longer handle, larger body.

Lew's TP - less line capacity, dual braking, carbon fiber handle, aluminum star drag, shorter handle, small body/frame.

P.S. - Which**

Not at all. The tournament speed spool and the tournament pro are close but not the Mg vs Pro.

The TP is great little reel for the $140-150 price you can pick it up for. Super light and very solidly built. The carbon handle is a nice touch too.

The tournament pro will be the next reel I get I love. My tournament mg and my super duty but the weight difference between the two is unbelievable

out of what you have listed I would go with the Tournament pro. It is a much better reel, but, and isn't there alwat a but........I would tell you to buy a Daiwa Tatula reel, this is so, so , good, and will not even understand it all until you are out on the water throwing it. The reel is amazing.

You can buy the Daiwa Tatula new in store at around $149.99 but if I was going to buy another one I would check with Mr. Ron at Valley Sports.

I didn't know I could post a picture from the Internet without using one of the sites such as Flickr or Photobucket.  Even us old farts can learn something once in awhile.  :teeth:

I saw the spelling, and thought you were a youngster.  I see it a lot.

BTW, you are still a youngster compared to some of us.  :hahaha-024:

Like I said, still a youngster.  Need help tying your shoes?  :laugh5:   (I do cuz it's hard to bend over!  LOL.)

MG or Tournament Pro may depend on what you plan on using the reel to :fishing1:  for.  Go with the 5.4:1 MG if it will be used mostly for deep cranking.  I can't use 120 yds. in my fishing much less the 150 yds of the MG, so as far as I'm concerned line capacity doesn't enter into the equation.  I have only used the Tournament Pro, and have no idea how the mag only Lews reels handle.  That may or may not make a difference to you.  The TP is 1.2 oz. lighter which makes a big difference to some.  Not me.  Love my Zillions!  :teeth3:

Personally I would opt for the TP. but what I would like may not be what you would like.  If this were Tackletour, I would tell you to buy both.  :teeth:

EDIT:  BTW, what rod did you get?
