Super User Darren. Posted March 18, 2014 Super User Posted March 18, 2014 Next week I will be driving through Nashville and I plan on stopping at the BassPro Shop store in that city. It's the only chance I get to visit a BassPro Shop since the two BassPro Shops in Indiana are too far away from me. I want to buy a few soft plastics made by BassPro Shops. I'm interesting in plastic worms, lizards and creature baits. So are there any that are well known or more popular that I should get? I don't have any BassPro Shop lures in my collection at all. So I would like to pick up a few bags but I'm not sure what. Thanks! Another Stik-O fan here. I even made a point to develop confidence in them once by taking nothing but a few bags of Stik-Os with me, nothing else. I fished them wacky, fell in love with the Pepper Frog Hot Orange color - a laminate with green and orange colors. Bass killed them that day, and ever since. The other color that is awesome: watermelon magic. Certain colors may work better for you, but I definitely think they're worth trying. I've got a number of other colors, but these are my favs. Oh, and I mostly fish them in 4 ¼" size, sometimes 5 ⅜" size. For lizards and such, I mostly fish Zoom. Haven't fished any BPS creature that I know of, more or less Berkley stuff that I picked up off clearance. Don't fish any of these as much as Senko/Stik-O style baits. Quote
slainempire Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 if you like shakey head fishing then check out the flicker worm Quote
frogflogger Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I've never really used any of their plastics except the stik-o's and I can honestly say they are not very soft and they don't seem to have much action. It's possible based on the other comments that bass pro has since corrected this issue but I just wanted to give my honest opinion. I agree they're not as soft as senko's but they really catch fish - a lot of fish - Quote
hoosierbass07 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 I stopped in this afternoon. It's only my second time there but I'm impressed - that store has a ton of lures. I picked up the 241 piece soft plastic kit, a bag of CharlienBrewer's slider worms, bag of grape mann's eight inch jelly worms, Carolina stoppers and 11/0 Owner hooks for my giant worms. I can't wait to try out those soft plastics! I think that store had almost at least one color of nearly every soft plastic made. After getting that 241 piece kit I think I'm done buying soft plastics for the year. I have so many already it's getting out of hand. lol. Quote

Have you had a chance to give them a whirl? Any luck? Quote

I probably won't try them till mid-April or later. Hopefully it will start feeling like spring once April gets here but we have snow-showers coming tonight. Quote
