TiNuts Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 So Cabelas recently came out with a line of rods made in America, which I think is awesome. Does anyone know anything about these rods/blanks? Playing with them in the store, they feel very *** like. I gave them quite a good look over and they seem like good quality. The only thing I could notice was sloppy thread trimming on guide wraps. The wrap itself was fine, but you could see the tag end hanging out in the epoxy. They're a non-coated blank and feel just as light as Omens. They are overrated similar to falcon rods (ie a MH lure rating lines up with a medium rod). Has anyone else noticed these? I'm very tempted to pick a couple up. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted March 15, 2014 Super User Posted March 15, 2014 I've handled them and they feel good. They're a bit tip heavy, but nothing extreme. I've been mulling over buying one myself. Quote
DirtyDeuceGoose Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I'm wondering if these are a second generation. I've got a Cabela's TXS rod from back when they were labeled with Roman numerals. I've got a V but I've also seen VI's and IV's. I actually really like mine, it's a 7 foot H and I can fish with it comfortably all day long. Quote
