BuffaloBass716 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Hey guys, anyone that fishes Lake Erie or the Niagara know what the bass are generally feeding on in the spring? I know the gobies are a favorite but what else is in these parts? Shad? other small fish? basically what forage is there in the lake and river? Also, when do you guys start heading out for the pre-spawn, temperature wise? What do you look for to find these early fish on the water? Any favorite techniques for early spring fishing would help too, since I think I missed it last year, being that I'm pretty new to bass fishing. Thanks Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted March 15, 2014 Super User Posted March 15, 2014 This time last year I had several 4+ smallmouth and countless northerns out of the tribs of Ontario. This year it's still frozen and I'm going insane. I was killing em on white spinner baits with gold willow blades. Quote
