Banned-99884 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Has anyone used them? They Look like an awesome rod. Do you like, dislike them, and why? Quote
Tartan34 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I own a KLX Punching stick, which I received fairly recently and only fished with a handful of times. So far, I like the stick a lot. Lightweight and very sensitive. The blank is great. It is comfortable to fish. As long as you know that you are getting a great blank with decent hardware....then you'll be satisfied. The wraps are basic, and the rod isn't flashly.....but it is a great fishing stick. I will be purchasing more KLX rods. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted March 15, 2014 Super User Posted March 15, 2014 Easily the best rod under $250 that I've ever had the pleasure of using (which includes a LOT of rods). KLX rods aren't flashy, but they're some of the cleanest builds out there. The Fuji K-Series Alconite guides are great, the NFC blanks are incredible. I definitely recommend getting the full grip over the split grip. Definitely worth the money and then some. If you sign up for the newsletter, you can get a code for 15% off as well. 1 Quote

Hogsticker Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 If I had to switch all my rods out for one line, these would be it Quote

How does the rod balance with a 6.0-8.0 oz reel and which weight reel is the best for it? I had a Metanium DC on mine, weighs 6.9oz, and it balanced right at the front of the foregrip. It's not a very large foregrip though, so that's only an inch or so in front of the reel. A moderate taper should balance a little better, as I had the faster model, which weighs a little more. I think you'll be pleased, they're fantastic rods. Quote
Hogsticker Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I have the 7 foot my CRT rod with a Zillion mounted on it. It also balances right in front of the hood and this reel weighs over 8 ounces. Just shows how well balanced these rods are Quote
