Super User Darren. Posted March 15, 2014 Super User Posted March 15, 2014 Has anyone ever had a bag of Powerbait worms get white mold all over the worms and inside? Was just checking my bags of ribbon tail worms, the zoom worms are fine, but the Powerbait is moldy, as described. Curious. Yes, I've used at least 2 or 3 of the package. Don't think its gotten wet. If it did, all the Zoom bags did as well, but no mold there. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I've had it before, and not just powerbait. My basement flooded, and white powerdery mold (maybe mildew) grew on the outsides of my tackleboxes and got in a few bags of soft plastics (not to mention the basement walls, floor and everything else down there... ). Anyhow, it wipes right off. I haven't noticed it having any effect on the bites. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted March 15, 2014 Super User Posted March 15, 2014 Never seen any mold on any of my Powerbaits, and I've got some really old ones left in my stock that are in great shape. Since I've never experienced that I guess I don't have any helpful answers. I have had some plastics get wet and acquire a milky, faded look but after drying them out the color was back to original. No mold though. Quote

This pack was in its original pack, sealed, together with several Zoom bags, all in a single gallon zip lock bag. So I'm not sure how it got all moldy. Interesting, nonetheless. Quote

If you should ever find out, please share. Almost tempted to run some tests to see if I could make it happen, just for the heck of it. Quote
