I love zoom plastics and have been fishing them for years. However I am very specific when selecting their stuff off the shelf, trick worms and flukes in natural colors that I'm sure have caught everyone here bass. While making a quick stop this afternoon to stock up on some plastics, I noticed the z drop hidden amongst all the other designs zoom makes. I do a lot of drop shotting but I stick mostly to a local company (wackem crazy lures) and roboworms for baits. Excited to see a ds specific lure from zoom (embarassed that it has been out for a year unknown to me). They look like good little baits and picked up a couple of packs. Any of you guys been fishing these and how do you like them?

Decent, but many better. My choices for a minnow type bait like that are Roboworm Sculpins, PTL JP Hammer Shad, and Berkley Gulp minnows. Alll have the similar minnow shape, but those three work way better for me.

Haven't tried those but I found a couple packs of meat heads in a local shop today haven't seen those things since the slider head was popular. God that seem like a loooong time ago

I like them.  They are copies of Jackall crosstail shad.

I drop shot them frequently.  I think they work well and they are a whole lot cheaper and more durable than roboworms.  I caught 4 or 5 fish off one downed tree on a single green pumpkin z-drop.

I still think Roboworms are better, so are Trick Worms and Finesse worms.  I can routinely find z-drops for under 2.50 for a pack of 15.  The Trick worms and finesse worms are closer to 4 bucks for 20.  So, they are cheaper.  They catch fish.

Glad to hear they are durable, not all drop shot baits are... I know that a zoom fluke is a fish catching machine but I would never fish it on a ds rig, especially nose hooked. I want my ds baits to stand out on the hook floating and fluttering, not sinking or hanging limp. There are some ds specific fluke style baits from other companies that work well.

I haven't tried them but every other Zoom bait that I have has worked.

What I do have to mention is that is a great avatar! You must be a batt boy so if you ever need anything just let me know.

I love zoom baits but this bait has failed me on several occasions. Compared to jackall cross tail shad it was severely outfished. At some point I will give it another shot but right now it isn't a bait I have much faith in.

I don't think it's that bad, but the heavy salt impregnated baits do much better on drop shotting, IMO.  I'll stick with Roboworms.
