I use a Carbonlite 6'6" now with my Stradic 1000. Balances great. Would balance with the 2500 perfectly, too. Balanced perfectly with my Lexa 2000, which is a tad heavier than the 2500.

Other rods I've used: previous-gen Shimano Compres, both MXF, 5'9" and 6'3" respectively. Love the cork grips.

If I had the money, I would have strongly considered a Shimano Crucial. Very tip light, but that's what I like. The Carbonlites are extremely light, which is one of the things I love about them. My elbows are grateful.

I still use the Compres, one has my other Stradic 1000 on it, the other has the Lexa.

Fenwick Smallmouth Elite Tech or Aetos...I have a Stradic 2500 on the Aetos awesome setup.  These two spinning rods are always packed on my trips to the water. ALWAYS.

The action on my ET is a M XF.  A very versatile rod it's light enough for weightless baits but strong enough backbone to pull fish out of moderate cover.

Well if budget isn't an issue I highly recommend the new G.Loomis IMX852s. That's what I have paired with my Stradic and it's a great combo. Oh and if you're looking for something a little cheaper I'd also recommend the St.Croix Avid.

I am really enjoying my Stradic 1000FI paired with a St. Croix Premier 6'6" MF rod. I got the Cabelas-exclusive split-grip model, but I think the full grip is nice as well.

What techniques and presentations will you be using the spinning rod?

That is what you have to figure out and then purchase the rod after checking the rod's specifications to make sure the line test and bait weight match the 2500 and what/how you are going to throw and where.
