Today was a tough day. I gave my employer a 3 week notice of resignation and today I finished up the obligation leaving the project 2 weeks ahead of schedule with phase 1 of 2 phases in the punchlist stage.

Monday will be my first day with a company that I am very familiar with and know a lot of the folks within the company.

I have mixed emotions as I'm happy to join a new oranization and kinda bummed about leaving my old company. On the bright side, the company I left asked that we keep an open dialog should I ever want to make come back in the future. Nice to leave on good terms and to have the door left open.

Congratulations on 2 fronts ~

First for leaving them in a good situation as you transitioned to your next adventure and secondly for having the courage and confidence to know it was time.

Good Luck My Friend - Here's to you.

Why can't everyone do things this way.  I applaud you on taking the high road and leaving the company correctly.

I remember a few years back having an employee wanting to leave and start his own shop.  I'm always happy to hear that happen.  Progress is good.  Instead of letting me know he was leaving, he took all his things in the middle of the night and then called me after.  Didn't take his calls.  Even his girlfriend apologized for his actions.

Congrats Homie.

I'm kinda disappointed though. I was hoping you went out with a bang like I did when I left that rat contractor last fall. It was a full blown fireworks display. This was one week into working out my two week notice. It ended extremely poorly. Had a jobsite with 30 other workers go stone silent listening to me tear into him. Only open shop I'm not welcome back at.

I also applaud you for leaving with leaving with intelligence and class. I am not surprised your former employer wants you back. Intelligence and class are hard to find.  :respect-059:

Thanks guys, always nice to read positive posts from respected members.

No need to be disappointed Raider, even taking the high rode on rat employers is better than dropping down to their level. Just remember, they're mostly p1$$ed for having a good employee leave them than they are at you the person. By leaving, you fired them.
