CJV Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 After reading this thread I decided to go out and I picked up a bottle of the KVD conditioner However I set up all my reels with line last week so when should u spray this on my line? I'm not going to be fishing for another one to two weeks waiting for the ice to melt Any advice would be appreciated When you get the KVD L&L just spray a little on your line and wipe the excess off. I would then re apply the night before you are going fishing! Have fun and tight lines Quote
FlipSide Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'm convinced KVD L&L conditioner was made by god himself. Makes fluorocarbon and mono 1000x more manageable 1 Quote

I spray it on and let it SOAK......... even the directions on the bottle say spray it on and let dry if I am not mistaken. many people after fishing make a long cast and give it a few sprays while reeling in at the end of the day. 1 Quote

bassin is addicting Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 When spooling a reel with fresh line I make x amount of turns with the handle and spray l&l. Then just continue that process until it's full of new line. Then spray it down the night before I go fishing X2 i tend to drench it....i don't think you can use too much...it absolutely works. 2 Quote

Super User *Hootie Posted March 17, 2014 Super User Posted March 17, 2014 X2, especially the Swiss rolls ABSOLUTELY!!...my favorite. When I'm in the mood, I can do a whole box. But that's not often, I worked to hard to lose 75#. Don't want it back. Hootie 1 Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 18, 2014 Super User Posted March 18, 2014 The KVD spray is so good I will never use anything else. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted March 18, 2014 Super User Posted March 18, 2014 I bought a bottle of KVD a while back, but haven't seen much improvement personally. Sprayed it on Tatsu, Sniper, and Shooter. They may be slightly more limp, but not enough to really wow me. I'm still unconvinced it has much affect on a good fluorocarbon. One of the biggest selling points of fluorocarbon is the fact that it is nearly impervious to absorption. Maybe cheaper lines with more porous resins are more susceptible to water absorption than higher quality lines? I'll continue to use the stuff, but I've already sprayed my spools a half dozen times between spooling them up and just randomly when I walk through the garage and haven't noticed a big improvement. Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 18, 2014 Super User Posted March 18, 2014 I bought it once, it works but I wasn't wowed either. I see no reason to use it own braid which I mainly use, and the 2 set ups I have with copoly a hot water soak works just as well. Quote

OK, Back to the subject Tip....If soak an old nylon sock instead of a cloth towel to run your line through while spooling, you'll use a lot less. Mike Quote
