I like them. Second one looks like a fatty.

I went out for a few hours today after visiting bass pro. Picked up a Penn fierce, spider wire invisible braid (15lbs), rapala skitter walk and a devils horse. No hits on the skitter walk and tons of boils on the devils horse. Zero catches though. The big girls were there but not biting what I was throwing.

Penn Fierce is great. I've got one.

Have you bought spiderwire braid before? I have that same braid and I switched to Sufix Braid. Though the spiderwire doesnt give me issues with windknots, it does snap rather easy. It's far weaker than my 15lb sufix.

I've used spider wire before. I was tossing into heavy cover today and even sent the skitter walk into some twigs/Lilly pads. The invisibraid actually impressed me. Sawed through a branch and pulled the pad up in the same retrieve. Wasn't looking to lose my new lure but gave me quite a bit of confidence In its strength. To be honest I don't like braid much I've heard good stuff about power pro but I decided to give spider wire a chance again pretty happy I did.

Maybe I just got a bad spool of it then. I've gotten the complete opposite from mine. LOL.

I won't try Power Pro. I have a friend that has it on several of his rods and he is always battling wind knots and stuff. He went to Sufix like I did and he hasnt had any knots or issues.

Glad to hear your spiderwire is working out for you. Maybe some day I'll give it another chance but for now I've got enough Sufix to last me a bit.

Well I have yet to do any bluegill or panfish hunting and decided to give it a shot as well. I made some bait balls with flour, water, and garlic another batch with Vanilla Extract. Probably give em a try tomorrow if the Bass bite is slow.

Tropical Park today again. Slow start at around 2pm. Didn't hook up with any till about 3 and I lost it just as it was in eye sight range. Decent size fish, probably 2 lbs or so. I then caught this one on a stick worm. Weighed in at 1.12 lbs. I had a big un swim right by the bank. The biggest fish I've seen there, it had to be 4 or 5 pounds easy. I wasn't able to retrieve my lure in time to flip near it before I lost sight of it.

I want to share with all of you a fascinating story that just occurred to me less than 20 min ago. Let me rewind to earlier today. I am hanging out with my wife and kids and my son knows that at certain part of the day I go fishing during the weekend. The time was approaching and my son says " Dad are you going fishing for nothing". I explained to my son, that I do not go fishing for nothing, you never know when you go fishing, and your next cast may be the biggest fish you ever catch. The conversation finishes and he walks away and says "Have fun fishing for nothing". Fast forward, I walk to my neighborhood canal throwing my trusty spinnerbait. I fish and fish and nothing is happening. The water is really stained and after an hour of fishing I have not caught anything. I make cast, swim the spinnerbait my special way, and then it happens...... the behemoth rears its head. In one second I see my spinnerbait swimming and the next this monster of a fish inhales my bait. GAME ON...  I say, and we begin to battle. She surges, I counter. Then I realize I am on the high ground of the canal and there is no way to land this fish without my breaking my rod or popping my leader. So I make a dash to a low clearing while fighting the fish. We at one point cross paths. When I reached the low ground I controlled her from jumping successfully and then she surged, I countered, she surged again away and parallel to the shore to an out crop of limestone and then!!!! it was over.... the line went dead. When I reeled up my line, and felt it, I knew what happened. She went against the limestone and sheared off the line. I have caught some nice bass over the years, but that one would have/or could have been my personal best. I do not get heart broken often when I fish, but this one hurt. Once the line went dead, all I could here was " Dad are you going fishing for nothing"..... LOL.... what are the odds of my son and I having that conversation and the big one getting away all on the same day....  Now I just need this kid to give me six magic numbers... LOL...

Hate to say it but ive had to many big ones get away. Im positive ive hooked (or lack of hooked) into 10+ lb monsters. The fight usually lasts all the way upto the shore and then they get off. What a horrible feeling to look at these fish and then in a flash their gone.

Every bass fishing man knows it, lunkers just have that look. Eyes wide apart, the fight is more intense then your regular fish, and minutes feel like hours while reeling it in. The adrenaline starts going and you know this is the catch you been waiting for....

All for nothing? Nah. Its that moment you live for. It will come again.

Went out again, not a bite.

I'm almost done with trying. Seriously done. It obviously works differently up here than it does for the rest of the state. There was a tournament going on and saw plenty of 3-4 lb fish being weighed. Not for me...

You may be witnessing the giving up of a bass fisherman until I move back to Orlando. I just don't have the time for not catching fish.

You need a go pro to show your son what you fish for. LOL.

Hey JellyMan just hang in there bud. Probably just a matter of figuring out what they like to eat over there.

Yesterday my spirits were broken down.  I am only looking to catch peacocks, no longer interested in LMB.  It's been hard to justify driving to 60 miles each way to Miami in the hopes of a 5# fish that I may not catch anyway.  I go to Boca upon a recommendation, rule #1, unless it's a homeboy pay no attention to someones' "bull".  First cast maybe a 2 lb bass, that meant a hot day or the kiss of death, the latter prevailed.  With all the driving around I did I could have gone to Miami, my freshwater motivation is really starting to wane.

My brother caught another huge one this month...Went fishing this morning with a friend and around 9:30 we hopped to this small pond and 3 casts caught 3 fish. My friend first casted and caught a nice 3 pounder on a Berkely Pit Boss texas rigged. My brother then casted (berkley Pit boss) and set the hook with what seemed like bottom LOL. After a tough fight we landed him and it was HUGE. My friend was so excited he decided to take another cast while we still had the big one on land and catches another one! It jumps out of the water and seems to be a nice one. We land it and it is atleast 4.5-5 pounds. Our adrenaline was pumping so much from fish after fish and not small ones either. Kind of jealous of my brother lol I want to break my pb this season and he's already caught two giant ones. post-46938-0-38540700-1395688344_thumb.jpost-46938-0-90210800-1395688354_thumb.jpost-46938-0-08747100-1395688412_thumb.jpost-46938-0-18357300-1395688455_thumb.j

the scale was saying 7.5 pounds but I think it's bigger

look like next time I'm in Orlando you are gonna have to put me onto this spot this time lol.

Still can't get that canal out of my mind man! Perfect spot I definitely enjoyed my time there, some monster fish and I only fished the first 2 canals, there's like 6-8 I forget what I saw on google earth when I was there.

I'd be jealous of your brother too if I were fishing with him lol, but your PB will definitely come from that canal or that other spot you just posted, number 1 rule there are always bigger!

Try Snakeheads down in Coral Springs! Or you could try down in Davie too. I've caught some nice peacocks down off side canals from Griffin Rd.

hey guys been MIA for awhile just got back from a snowy vacation in WV.  The wife wants to go on the boat for the first time this weekend.  Was thinking of heading out to Santa Fe bc her grandmother has a house on the small lake.  I know some people on here have said they are struggling on there but was hoping for some areas on the small lake due to my small trolling motor being the only thing pushing me around lol.  She lives smack in the middle of the small lake.  If your looking at a map she is to the left around the corner of the ramp right next to the little point there where the docks end. Thanks guys, ive never fished it before so ill see how it goes.

Got a bigger tacklebox. Caught one today on a one knocker. Lost it 4 casts later. That spider wire I think failed on me. That or my knot. Went to the store and got two more lures and picked up the power pro. Loving it already. Will have to fish all day sunday and see what i can catch. I been on shopping sprees lately. Picked up a new kvd spinner, kvd crankbait crawfish color, zoom ole monster, speed worms, another two xcaliburs. I cant wait for my day off.

And figuered out how to attach pictures
