I'm going to do a little retention pond fishing this weekend.

Hopefully going with a buddy next weekend. I stopped into a local tackle store for the good word out and a certain body of water produced 40+ bass in one day. With all this rain and whatnot, seems us Florida guys are getting a nice summer break right now from the hot and sunny dog days.

Not telling. I need all the luck and lack of fishing pressure I can get up here in G'ville.  I gotta keep you fools off the water!

Rain ain't making it to Jax enjoy YOUR break  :cry4: lol Good luck

Was this the same scale you used for your 15lb catch? I just have to ask....  :Idontknow:

I'm glad to hear that you have an accurate scale now.  A 15# bass is pretty awesome, to me just as awesome is one of those 40# snook, I'd like to see one of those pictures.  In all my years of snook fishing, and I do it nearly every day, I've never caught a 40 pound snook.

Posted

My biggest snook was 22lbs out of the Sebastian Inlet. I've caught a 40lb red from there as well. I've seen some other people off the pier catch snook that might have gone 40 but weren't verified. I miss living in Sebastian. Best fishing in Florida(minus the keys) for salt and freshwater.

My wifes grandparents used to live down there. They just moved to SC full time....That placed looked awesome to fish. I am dying to get into some inshore. You fish much salt up here?

Sebastian has 50 and 60 pound redfish. the majority of world record redfish had been caught in Sebastian in the Indian river lagoon. Sebastian is a good place to catch big fish.

Yeh man. It was great. I was born and raised there. Left for college at 18. Parents still live there. My dad was a commercial fisherman before he retired. Mainly kingfish but some trout too. I fished all the flats in the Indian river lagoon.

Hey guys haven't been on BassResource in a while but just wanted to get back on and see what you guys are catching them on. Haven't been doing great lately and just need some tips on what baits you guys are using, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Frogs and speed/uvibe worms on top if that isn't working then I take to the bottom with big worms and pitching craw/creatures. Work your bait slow....let it soak, drag or slooow roll it. If the bite is on and they are busting then flukes, spinnerbaits, uvibes. Find out where they hang and at what time of day in your spots

Ah... summertime. Fishing can be spotty. Swallow a big patience pill and get out there as much as you can to increase your odds of catching fish. Some people pick up night fishing this time of year because the FL heat can be brutal. Mornings and late afternoons are always the more bearable times this time of year. If you do fish during the day, work cover methodically, and moving water is always a plus.

I believe there can only be 1 world record and for redfish it happens to be North Carolina, 94#.  Sebastion does hold some great fish, Florida record is 52# caught in that general area.
