Super User AK-Jax86 Posted March 16, 2014 Super User Posted March 16, 2014 Topwater soft plastic frogs. I've been having the best luck on a Damaki Air Frog. Which hooks do you like to use with the air frogs? None of my local stores carry the ones I have seen being used so I am going to have to place an online order Quote

moretolife Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I got this one the other day hiding in the gator grass. Nice one. Is that your boat behind you in the pic? What kind is that? Chris Quote
fstr385 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Catching nothing in Gainesville. I hate it here. Every post is negative. Worst area I have ever fished. The bass are here, they are just impossible to find. I didn't see one bed on Santa Fe yesterday. Makes no sense to me. That sucks!I was just up there for the gatornationals and was goin to bring a pole for Saturday after qualifying. Guess Im glad I didn't! Seems like there is some nice water up there too. Quote
fstr385 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 the weekend before last I went out and seen a few bedding bass, but a lot of empty beds. figured out to burn and jerk flukes which a hardly use lately worked great. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted March 17, 2014 Super User Posted March 17, 2014 The bass are still bedding. A lot of the catches I had over this past wknd, were spilling eggs. 1 Quote

CentralFloridaBass Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 On Saturday my brother, father, friend and I caught a total of 20 under 2 hours. I was fishing a Berkley Havoc Pit Boss, my friend was using a Strike King swim jig with a craw trailer, my dad was using a Zoom speed craw texas rigged, and my brother was using a Gambler Ugly Otter. I have a question if any one knows, once the fish are done bedding and they are ready to feed, where can they be located and feeding on what? Quote
teamshrink Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Fished in a tournament on Toho Sat. I caught a few with Senko's and flipped up a couple on a craw. My partner caught a nice one on a spinner bait. Quote

Females will need a little time to recuperate, and after that they get their feeding on. They go into their post pawn patterns. With the water temps still down they will wander about. When the season starts transitioning into summer time patterns they slow down and stay out of the sun. You got to look for heavy cover that shades them during the day. 1 Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Been on em with stick baits. Got a bunch up in Orlando with senkos. 1 Quote
gar-tracker Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Nice one. Is that your boat behind you in the pic? What kind is that? Chris Thats a Big O, locally made boat. Very nice rough water ride and comfortable to fish from. http://www.bigoboats.com/ Quote
Tartan34 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Hammered them on The Butler Chain today. Biggest producer for me was a chatterbait, but the A Rig and single swimbaits were productive as well. My buddy caught a bunch of nice ones on a spinnerbait. 1 Quote
Pz3 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Checking in havent had a chance to fish with the new job. Will be upgrading the tackle box soon though Quote

Hey, when you're rigging the air frogs, do you dig the spring deep down into the foam that's inside or just in the outer plastic? I tried rigging one and wasn't workin well at all. Not to mention the frog was rolling over on it's back with the shank exposed...no good Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 I'm not bass fishing per se, I'm on a quest strictly for peacocks in my area. I went to a place where I'm sure peacocks inhabit. I see some good looking water and sight cast, nail a mayan cichlid that took me all over the canal, maybe weight 3/4 lb., my highlight of the day, I thought it was a pea at first. The bass were all over the place there, I catch a few in very short order 3-4# using only a crappie jig. Had I used a senko (which I had a rod prepped in the car) I do believe it would have been one hell of a day. Quote

Super User RoLo Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 Do you ever sleep haha!! That's no joke! I believe that Sir Snook and myself are the biggest night owls on Bass Resource. In the wee hours of the morning, Sir Snook is one of the only member names I'll recognize on the roster. I usually hit the sack between 2 and 3 AM (EST), never nap and very rarely get more than 6 hrs of sleep per night. Roger Quote
1234567 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Well Roger it's good to see you back on here. It was just awhile ago I was wondering where you've been. Quote
