AaronSchneider Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 How's it going guys, been tearing em up on a square bill in some small Southside jacksonville ponds. How about you guys? What have your fish been slapping at lately? Quote
tiredbobmarley Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Im fishing the small lakes in the Orlando area. I was killing them with a rat-l-trap but the bite stopped on the lipless about 2 weeks ago. Senko senko senko...its been my bread and butter in the shallows along the brush for the last 2 weeks. Got this big girl on a pink and black senko 2 nights ago. 1 Quote
AaronSchneider Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 Never caught a fish on a lipless... That's the only lure I've never caught a fish on. Quote
Tartan34 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Froggin in Orlando. Lakes and Ponds, shore and boat....they are working like a charm. Quote

Texas rig weightless? Quote
CentralFloridaBass Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Been catching a lot on frogs also in Orlando. I have also caught them on texas rigged creature baits (craws, ugly otters, etc.) I've been meaning to throw a senko but I read spinnerbaits are good on windy days and it was really windy today. JellyMan Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Catching nothing in Gainesville. I hate it here. Every post is negative. Worst area I have ever fished. The bass are here, they are just impossible to find. I didn't see one bed on Santa Fe yesterday. Makes no sense to me. Quote

When do you graduate and find more productive waters? Quote

Super User MCS Posted March 13, 2014 Super User Posted March 13, 2014 Not sold on frogs.....overrated if you ask me. 1 Quote
Super User geo g Posted March 13, 2014 Super User Posted March 13, 2014 Down here in South Florida I have been killing them on 4" Senko type baits, Texas rigged. Fished weightless for a slow fall, and lots of pauses on the retrieve. For south Florida any watermelon color is excellant. Its a great little bait that casts a mile. 3 Quote
tiredbobmarley Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 How are you rigging your Senko? Texas rig weightless? Yep. Texas rig weightless just like geo g. Nice and slow. They seem to hit on the second or third drop on a cast. Ive been using green/silver, watermelon w/ red flakes, and a red/black senko. Quote
Biscuit027 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nightly tournaments, skinny dippers killin' it in some waypoints I have! Quote

Tartan34 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Topwater soft plastic frogs. I've been having the best luck on a Damaki Air Frog. Top water frog? or like a weighted creature style frog? Quote
AaronSchneider Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 I just like frogs because they come through weeds really well. I bet a Zara spook or chug bug can't slide over lily pads like a pad crasher. Lol Quote
0119 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Just a few dinks on Senkos wacky style for me. A couple weeks ago we went to Istokpoga and it was blowing a hurricane. Found them bedding and aggressive on EZ Swimmer's up the creek. Here at home the spawn is long over. Every day off is blue bird sky the day after a front and they're pretty closed mouth. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 13, 2014 Super User Posted March 13, 2014 Senko is usually going to find them but it has been on the slow side. I'm not fishing for bass only peacocks and I'm using crappie jigs. These little things just attract fish, caught peacocks, a few decent bass and an oscar. In the last few days I've caught a snook, larger jacks and 2 barracuda this morning, haven't been out for fresh yet. Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 The dinks are really biting good here on junebug senkos and frogs. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 14, 2014 Global Moderator Posted March 14, 2014 Last tourn it was all black/blue whatever....Jig, stick baits etc. Locally just messin around it's like 0119 said. Its been tough in the canals and ponds, but they're there. It just takes some time. Mike Quote
SneakySnook Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Frogs, crawfish pattern lipless crankbaits, and 1/2oz dirty jigs with a kinky beaver trailer. That's what has been working for me lately. Quote
gar-tracker Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I got this one the other day hiding in the gator grass. Quote
