Pflueger Supreme Xt Users?

Looking for thoughts on this reel. One could argue that's it's a Revo SX and S' love child, but performance is performance. What do you think?

its an awesome reel, I own two of the spinning models. Its the only reel in its price range with magnesium construction and its an absolute featherweight. My favorite feature is the bail though, it has a really smooth action and just a nice overall feel. I prefer it over the Shimano style light wire bails. I think they make it in the best sizes as well, I often find myself wanting a reel bigger than the smallest size but not as big as the second smallest and Pflueger's 2nd smallest size is a nice intermediate size compared to what most other companies offer. I've had mine for 3 years and they've held up great.

Thanks for your reply, but I was asking about the casting model. I own a supreme spinning reel too. I use mine for salmon!

Wish I could help with the XT, but don't own one.  However, I do own Pfluegers on both ends of the price spectrum.  Both perform just great, and the Patriarch XT is near the top of my list of favorite reels....both in looks and performance.

I have the XT and i have been very happy with it so far. It is very smooth and feels well made. It would say it is comparable to the revo sx.

i wanted one, even went as far as mounting it on a rod at the classic bps show. the guy at counter said it had graphite side plates, so I try to steer clear of them, nice reel but at 150.00 i want some type of metal

There's only a couple of reels at that price point that have a metal sideplate. Most all of them perform perfectly, regardless.

My tournament pro and bb1 pro both have graphite side plates and are great reels. I would love a physicist to come in and explain where a reel flexes.  I dont think it matters at all.

My supreme 35 has caught snook and jacks in excess of 15# for nearly 2 years before I switched it to freshwater.  Reel has never needed anything but a drop of oil.  On a performance basis the reel was just fine (still is), in fairness I've caught the same fish on abu sorons, stradics, quantums, penns and a few others, every reel handled those fish.  I'd be looking at the reel that feels best on my rod, any of them are going to perform just fine.
