Certainly, I recognize it. I have 2 in the box, mint.  A Ronco, Ron Popeil, Pocket Fisherman.  I collect a few things here and there.  Mostly militaria.

Don't forget about the newest one that they've upgraded "time and time again" and still kept it at the great price of $19.95 plus outlandishly high shipping and handling! but wait there's more! Haha You can still buy these at walmart

Seriously, still sold?  Must be next to the Multichron Watch.

Macmichael, is this a recent purchase?  Or from the camping days?

A bargain price :)    Shaking my head in disbelief that it's still sold.  Wake up America!!!  lol   Those sectional rods are much better than this, and they have a carrying case.  Not to offend Ron, it's just an opinion.

PSH! no way man just check out the awesome video and there's no way you'll ever want to buy anything else! http://www.pocketfisherman.com/?gclid=CKLyuNnNib0CFYY7MgodvVsAYw

Heck, after watching it I think I might just sell off my Croix's and load up my rod locker with these bad boys! And since it includes the handy storage I can ditch all my plano boxes as well!

I grew up with one of them. I had a paper route after school and I would care it on my bike when the papers were delivered

I would hit a small 8 acre pond. The tackle storage in the handle was great. I caught a lot of gills and bass on mine.

That takes back to my youth, thanks for the post!

No way!!!  I can't believe they are still selling those!!  Would like to know how much they have made selling that thing over the years.  If my grandma ever saw that commercial it would surely be under the Christmas tree for me this year....love my grandma.

My uncle bought one of those when they first came out all those years ago. I don't know if he ever used it. He always carried a fishing pole and his vest full of lures in his trunk. He was a trout fisherman, I don't think he ever fished for bass.

He bought every fishing gimmick that came along, including a portable plastic seat that had storage inside. If you saw it advertised on TV, the next time you saw him he would have it.

He was always good for alot of laughs. I miss him.

10 year warranty you say...?  I wonder if there's any "warranty money" built into that price for replacement?

"Just send in $10 plus $5 for shipping and we'll replace it."

No not a recent purchase. I have had it for years and years and years and years. I don't even know where I got it.

Jolly Green, that's pretty neat.  WIGuide is a Croix fan (as am I) and he probably wouldn't mind having this as a collectable.  I know I would and haven't seen one before.

Macmichael, the two I have are also very old, and I believe first runs.  It's funny how people give you things because they know you are a fisherman and they think you like everything related to fishing :)  I don't mind, it's kind of them.  Thought maybe you had yours in a camper from some years ago.

I actually had one of these when I was little. My grandpa didn't want it anymore, so he passed it on. Unfortunately the reel was on its last leg and I think it got junked unfortunately.

I have one of those as well.

I saw one at a thrift store and I couldn't stop laughing. I was in disbelief that it actually was made by St. Croix, but as gimmicky fishing gear goes, it's at least interesting. They wanted $30 for it though, and I'm not much for collecting. They are all over Flea Bay if anyone's itching to try it.

I'm going to have to add one of those to my collection. I've got a bunch of old lures from the 1920-1950 era. several old reels from the same time. What year's were those made?
