Looking for a boat that's a good compromise for fishing st clair or Erie and inland bass lakes. Also would want to hit the spring walleye run on the D.

50 percent big water 50 percent inland lakes.

What are your recommendations. Would like to spend 25k plus or minus fully loaded with electronics.

x2 what Pa Angler said. I have a Ranger 619VS multispecies and I love my boat. It is not a bass boat and it tops out at about 50-55 mph. But I bought it for what I needed and it makes a great big water boat. If you look around, you can find a good used one. You will love this boat as it has a lot of storage, a big livewell, baitwell, cooler and a add on deck in the back if you want to bass fish. If you would like more info or a pic let me know

X3 on the walleye boat. Better to have too big on the smaller water than too small on the bigger water. There are a TON of big water boat manufacturers, and most of the bass boat brands sell multispecies boats as well

Thanks for the confirmation. I am keeping my eye out for a 2006 or newer ranger 619. Also looking at triton. Going to try to fish as many as possible this year in the michigan bfl's to get a feel for how various boats handle on st clair and Erie.

There are a lot of other manufacturers you should look into. Not just the "popular" brands. Tuffy, Warrior, Larson, the new Recon boat Joe Bucher is promoting looks like it has a nice fishing platform, Charger, Yar Craft etc. Plus all the tin boats. I run a Lund and fish Lake Michigan and another member here runs a Starcraft on Erie. Ranger is a hell of a boat, but you might be able to get a little more boat for your money with one of the less popular brands. The 2014 621's MSRP is over 80k which is almost twice what I paid for a 20ft Lund. Just something to think about
