MainelyBASS Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Looks like open water fishing in Maine will have to wait until mid-May. I am packing for my trip out on the big O. How have they been biting out there? Forecast for Thursday is sun and mid 70's. Even if I don't catch any fish I am looking forward to playing on the lake for a day. Quote
bocabasser Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 the lake is alive and doing well. i fished a tourny yesterday and my partners gps did not calibrate and we were and hour late to weigh in. we had 18 pounds and might have come in second. 22 pounds won. there are lots of fish on the lake. grab a gold bladed spinnerbait in w/white skirt. big easy's and swim jigs. i flipped up a bunch of fish yesterday as well. have fun and be safe. 1 Quote

Funny you mention the swimg jigs, ez's and spinnerbaits...thats what my *** order consisted of along with some 1 1/4 flipping jigs. Obviously I would never ask for specifics, but in general which hemisphere of the lake should I focus on, leaving from Clewiston? From info I have gathered looks like the west and south should be plenty sufficient for me. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 12, 2014 Global Moderator Posted March 12, 2014 Coots Bay, and a little farther north the Monkey Box have been on fire lately. If it's really windy and want some cover try Uncle Joes, and the little cut's off the rim. Good Luck, you're in for something special. Mike Quote
gar-tracker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Its eating time, my favorite time of year. Go anywhere and fish hard you'll get em. Quote
