I got mine at Walmart. She's a Walmart girl!

We both worked at the same store. So did my first wife. We divorced before I got together with my wife now (she was a cheater). A year later I was married to my wife now, and we're now in our 13th year.

Funny, I heard WalMart didn't offer benefits to their employees

I'd been moping around for a few weeks after my girlfriend of 5 years dumped me for fishing too much (shocker I know :) ). My buddy got tired of me being like that so he drug me out to a county western bar/dance club despite my protest. Walked in the door and immediately one of the prettiest girls I'd ever seen came up to my buddy and punched him in the arm and asked what he'd been up to. He tried to introduce me to her but I couldn't get any words to come out that made sense. Thought I'd blown my chance when my buddy came over to me and told me that she wanted to know if I knew how to dance. I didn't but that didn't stop me from trying. By the end of the night I knew a few different dances and hadn't hardly stopped talking since we started.  We dated for a year before I asked her to marry me, our wedding was a few months later. Now we've been married almost 4 years and have a perfect little 2 1/2 month old baby boy :)

Flashback to 1961 - Three young kids meet each other as they start kindergarten at Riverview School.  They become friends and spend quite a bit of time after school and during the summers fishing and swimming along the western shore of the river that runs through their small town.  The river is home to smallmouth, walleye, and pike, all making certain holes their homes.  The boys slowly learned which place held which fish and what it took to catch them.

Fast forward to the 8th Grade - The three have become absolute river rats as they've learned every honey hole along their river.  They've also fished many of the smaller feeder creeks for trout, and a local lake that is great for bluegills and largemouth bass.  One day while discussing their favorite subject a sixth grade underclassmen has the audacity to introduce himself.  He's from across town on the east side and he has fished the same river from the other bank.  Now he is interested in all those spots we have found.  Even though they should have given this underclassman a well deserved "wedgie" and sent him on his way, but they decide to include him in their adventures.

The trio learn that not only is this younger kid a fairly good fisherman, he also is the only boy in a family that has six girls.  SIX GIRLS!

To make a long story shorter, all three of these young guys ended up marrying one of those sisters, and we're all still married to them today.

B-I-L Scott made the best observation at deer camp one year when he said "I don't have any friends anymore, just Brother-In-Laws!"

And we still haven't given him that wedgie!

My wife was a participant in a fitness class I was leading at the time. We got to know each other during one of the class breaks, and we found out together that we went to the same high school but our path's never crossed there. Our 13th yr of marriage is coming up this May.

Forgive me Mike, but I am having a hard time picturing you....educated, gentlemanly, mannerly...as a bouncer at a bar! I bet you were BA!

Met my sweetheart of fourty plus years dragging the gut in Seaside, Oregon. She lived in Brightwood and I lived in Hillsboro. Took an hour to get to her place for a date but was worth it. Two awesome kids and she lets me fish.

21 years ago in my jr. year of high school. We are both from small rural towns about 7 miles apart. She was dating one of my buddies, and he didn't have a working car at the time. I drove him over to see her. Well he treated her like crap, and she started to cry, I kicked him out of the car, drove her home. I made him call the next day to apologize to her , and she wanted to talk to me instead.....we have been together ever since. Engaged in 1995, married in 2001, kids in 05' and 09', and will be together untill she buries me.

When I got out of the academy she was working for our department as a civilian. Had seen her around and knew who she was, but at the time she had a fiance who treated her like crap, and I was also a little scared to talk to her. She eventually dumped him. About a month later I went out with a bunch of people from work. Sat at a table with her all night talking and eventually asked her out. Went on a couple dates and that was pretty much it. Dated her for about three years before I asked her to marry me, should have done it sooner. We've been married about 2 1/2 years now and have a wonderful 1 1/2 year old boy.

I was outside at work one day when I started talking to this beautiful girl from the pharmacy, but had to run back inside before I knew who she was. One afternoon I received a company email. She had looked me up so she could ask me out. Due our difference in age I turned her down (i was 37 she was 22). That weekend I had taken a fly fishing trip to the mountains but could only think about her. When I got back in town I emailed her. Thankfully she accepted and now, 4 years later, will be getting married in May. Best decision I ever made!

We met on Match.com  We met on Christmas Eve 06'  I left to attend Fiesta Bowl a few days later.   We talked the whole time I was in Phoenix. Our anniversary is in November.  I was sitting in a deer stand and my mother called and left a message.  Thank goodness the phone was on silent!  :eyebrows:   She wanted to take Kasey and I out to eat.   My mother doesn't do any of those things unless there is a reason.  So, as I sat on stand I'm rubbing my head thinking, why the heck is she taking us out to eat?  BOOM  Lightbulb!  I missed our anniversary........and she did as well!  Not bad after 6 years of marriage.

I didn't give her a diamond.  She purchased it herself.  Off of QVC.  A cubic zirconia.  Why you ask?  She said it isn't the diamond, it is what it represents!  Another juicy tidbit.   We were married at the hangmen's courthouse in Ft Smith, Arkansas.  In front of a covered wagon.  A train steamed thru why we were say our prepared vows.  For dinner, mexican food.   Our honey moon consisted of a hockey game in Tulsa and the next day we went to Norman, Oklahoma for an OU Sooner tailgate and football game!

She has given me something I'd never have, a beautiful baby girl who will soon turn 5 the day after my birthday!   So enough of my bragging! She's the one for me! :respect-059:

Let's see. We met when I was 5 and she was 7. I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my life. She was older than me and was always nice to me. We saw each other every Sunday at church. For a young man of 5 I was already smitten with her. Eventually we moved to a different church as did they. It wasn't until I was 19 and she was 21 that I saw her again. She was engaged to some loser with a attitude problem. "He is now known as the toothless wonder." I was living it up in college. When I was 20. Auburn threw me out and her fiance had thrown her out. I was driving her to and from some mutual friends apartment at night where we would all hang out. They were accusing us of dating so we decided to go along with it, and act like we were dating in an effort to play a joke on them. That lasted 2 weeks, when we really did start dating. That was 10 years ago. We have been married for 8years now 9 in December. We have a five year old son and another due in July. Best Joke I have ever played in my life.

Hmmm

OKay this is the truth.WIFE hates it when i tell this story..I woke up one night after dreaming of this pretty girl with black hair and glass's i knew what high school she had went to and i knew her name was De.I just didnt know the place in the dream. It was an old timey time clock, you know you push down and held the card in side ways and it went 'Ker-Klunk' hell didnt even know a place like that.I was in the Army when i had the dream.

Fast forward 2 years later im home, looking for a part time job.went to a hotel and the food and beverage guy had his office in the basement next to the time clock everyone used  ( not just any time clock ,but THE time clock ) i walked by it and nothing clicked.I finished the interview ( i got the Job) and was just talking to the guy.......then SHE walked up with her time card in her hand and it all just fell in place....like a flash going off in my head..I watched her clock in and she had on her school jacket and it was just 'WOW' i walked up and said 'Hey De i have been waiting to meet you '

The look on her face was priceless..she asked if she knew me,i told her not yet but you will. I asked her out,she said yes and to be honest we really havent been apart since then...she is my soul mate..i was guided to meet her, given a quick look years prior so i would know not to be afraid and to relax...I and she believe,we really do.Because of this i know there is so much more going on that we mere mortal humans dont and couldnt grasp.

I love telling the story.

oh a ps..once i got to know her she was a no nonsense kinda lady..didnt believe in ufo's,bigfoot,aliens,ghosts..none of it.I waited until we were married to tell her the story...lmao

Mutual friend thought we had similar personalities and insisted we met. She didnt want to meet me because of the sterotype of hunters/fisherman being dirty rednecks. Her view on life has changed so many ways the last four years its crazy. Told me she would never eat venison cause she hated it growing up, I explained its in the chef to make venison good and now its the number one requested dinner.
