Super User Bankbeater Posted March 8, 2014 Super User Posted March 8, 2014 My Dad passed away Friday afternoon after a nearly a year long battle with leukemia. My Mom passed in 2005, so they are together now. He would have been 84 yo in July. My Dad was my best friend and fishing partner for many years. He was the reason that I started fishing, and he was the one that got me back into fishing 11 years ago. It's going to be hard getting back out on the water without him, but I know that is what he would have wanted. Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 8, 2014 Super User Posted March 8, 2014 Bankbater, so sorry to read about the passing of your dad. I know it is a tough time for you and the family. All the best to you and the family to get through this time. It may be a challenge but you will get through it. The baton in your family has been passed from your dad to you. You are the top guy and family members will start to look up to you in place of your dad. Take care. Quote

Your dad is still with you and he'll be there with you on the water too even if your fishing by yourself. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 9, 2014 Super User Posted March 9, 2014 Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure he will be with you each time you go fishing in the memories and experiences the two of you enjoyed together. Being a father I cherish each day I fish with my son and enjoy seeing the passion he has as well. Sounds like you had a great father as well as a great fishing partner. God bless you and your family.
