Currently, ***.

I am always interested in what is the best deal per $ spent though.  There are better rods, but I have not seen another that is better for the price points that 13 offers.

My second favorite where I think you get alot of rod for the money is the BPS carbonlite.

Picked up 2 Ghosts, so we will see how they perform next weekend on the first trip out after a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG winter.

Shimano for me. light, sensitive, good action and power, and decent pricing.  about to pick up my first dobyns so maybe that will change. Only time will tell...

My Edge is probably my favorite rod, but for the money I spent....it should be. My favorite rod company is ALX at the moment. Their rods are incredibly good, but that's not the only reason I like them. My favorite thing is that you can have a custom rod built by them for only slightly more than the retail price. I really like that they'll work with you and help design the specific rod you need and not charge an arm and a leg for it. I have 2 and they cost roughly $50 more than retail, even though I added quite a few goodies. When you contact the company, the owner emails you back, not some secretary. I like having customer service and ownership being one in the same, because I know he'll listen to what you have to say and stand behind his product.

My favorite brands pretty much in my Signature.  I find these three brands have the selection of rods types that I like to fish with.  They all perform to what I think a Power/Action of rod is suppose to be.  Breakdown is this - High End Shimano/Loomis rods for Bottom Contact (GLX, Cumulus and Cumara)...and Fenwick to fill in my other spots and for the price I can get the Aetos and ET Smallmouth, I find these rods are the best bang for your buck.  Although Fenwick has been working it's way up to the ladder and becoming an overall favorite.  This doesn't mean I won't try other brands. I still own 1 Abu, Daiwa and St. Croix.

I have a dobyns champion. Don't like it that much. Defiantly not worth 250$ I would go with a *** *** or drop some extra cash and get the new Loomis IMX

Daiwa. It is all I own these days. I do have a buddy who fishes Fenwicks and Falcons and they seem nice from the few times I have used them.

Rapsody Rods.  why ... they produce a good product and they are local.  HQ'd out of Troy, NY which is literally 10 minutes from me.

Almost every rod I have tried above the 100.00 dollar price point I have liked. I can narrow it down to about 4 lines of rods for me.

1) Shimano Compre/Crucial

2) falcon Bucoo Micro ( so light it is ridiculous)

3) abu veritas, verdict and vendetta ( great bang for your buck)

4) st. Croix Triumph and Mojo ( these are great moving bait rods as they are a little heavy, I also have the flipping stick it is a beast no worries about breaking this stick)

All of these rods are in the bang for your buck category, which is where I typically like to purchase my equipment. I do appreciate the enthusiast level gear though and will probably own some in the near future...

Fenwick, Fenwick, and Fenwick.

If i'm fishing on a budget i'll go with a Berkley Lightning rod, those things are amazing for their price point.

Shakespeare!

Just kidding. I'm a St. Croix guy myself...

Though I am currently having a love affair with new Tatula rods.

I've become a big fan of Fenwick.  Wish the Smallmouth series had a few more choices so a person wouldn't have to step up to the more expensive Aetos.  I've never fished Loomis (except a GL3 flyrod), Dobyns, Phenix, Kistler or Powells or several other makes.  I do own at least 10 other brands of rods, tho.

I like my Falcons...especially the Experts, but feel Fenwick offers an awful lot of rod for the money.  I have several AVs, a couple Smallmouths, an Aetos, an older HMG.  All casting models.  In their spinning rod lines I have a River Runner, an older Elite Tech and an old, old glass rod with plans on a Smallmouth by the start of this coming season.  I feel certain I will be passing them all down to my grandsons.

My first choice for rods was the Cabelas XML and XMLTi which are great rods for the money with a Cabelas Prodigy also in my mix, I also love my RodTech Custom rod and nothing like having a rod built to your specification and knowing it will perform the given task better than off the shelf and be less than some of the high end off the shelf rods.

It's natural that guys jump on whatever the " rod brand bandwagon du jour" happens to be.  And whatever brands they own have a tendency to be wonderful in comparison to any other brand since most of us usually don't have a wide experience basis of comparison.  That said, the brand I've enjoyed bass fishing with the most in the past 15 yrs is Rogue Rods.  I bought blanks and "rolled my own" so can't comment on their factory rods, but the MB 664 and MB 704 blanks have been favorites of mine.  Super light graphite blanks that are sensitive and actually flex!  Now there's a novel idea!  After the Rogues, I've enjoyed fishing with the Shimano Crucial dropshot rods the most.

My favorite spinning is st croix, casting I don't really have one I don't feel like I've used enough out there yet. I picked up a kistler over the winter can't wait to use it, I also want to give dobyns and loomis a shot this year too.

I have switch most of my rods from Shimano to Gloomis and Dobyns, but if I am staying around 100 bucks for a rod then I prefer BPS.
