Djman72 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Stopped out to BPS after work today to meet a fishing buddy and cruise around. He wanted to pick up a new reel and I didn't need anything. That was until I spotted her sitting on the rack just gleeming. I've wanted to replace my weightless soft plastics/dropshot rod for some time now, but never really pulled the trigger. This pretty girl you might ask? A Fenwick HMG 6'9" ML-F spinning rod. They were on sale too $79.99 from $100.00. Paired it up with a Pflueger Supreme XT that I got as a gift this Christmas. Well balanced and sleek bass catching outfit (I HOPE ). I think I'm going to name her Veronica... 1 Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted March 6, 2014 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted March 6, 2014 Congrats, I tried to do the same thing but. It was raining so I met Nicole (wife) at the mall for lunch (next to Dick's). We went rod shopping for me after lunch and she wound up with a new Quantum Escalade rod and matching bc reel. I got to pay for it. 2 Quote

Bought mine as a combo off of amazon at a smokin' price. Slick rig. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted March 7, 2014 Super User Posted March 7, 2014 Sometimes I'll go to Cabela's for lunch because they have the Cottonwood Grill in there...that's usually an expensive sandwich. I don't think I could walk through a Dicks, Gander, Cabela's, or BPS without spending money. Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 i thought I was the only one that named my combos Quote

Guilt as charged! I do name most of my combo's makes things a bit more interested and makes me chuckle in my head. I'm not a very normal person so I do some pretty unconventional things. When I was in highschool I named my bat. Ole Evelyn helped us go to state one year. Quote

Light. A friend thought it was a Dick's copy of the Quantum Smoke which he says is a great rod for the price. Light, sensitive and strong. Please post back about the rod once your better half has fished it. It might be another good rod for the $100 crowd. Quote
gripnrip Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I don't walk into Bass Pro unless I have cash to spend. At least a Ben Franklin in my pocket. I don't window shop! Quote
