EdsBar Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Hey all: I have a line question. I haven't commited to a line on this rod yet, but I am running A 6'6" Berkley medium/light lightning rod with a Phlueger Supreme MGX. I already have another rod running 6lb Braid. What should I run on this one. I was thinking Flouro, but what would compliment it best? Thanks! Quote
Smallmouth Hunter Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 If you are going to run braid, go with 10 lb. Any more than 10 pound and you will have more difficulty casting long distances, and any less and you will have line digging problems. 1 Quote
EdsBar Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 I was trying to run something different on this other than braid. I have two others running braided line. Any ideas? Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted March 7, 2014 Super User Posted March 7, 2014 Seaguar invizx (6 or 8 lb). FWIW - I use braid with leaders instead. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted March 9, 2014 Super User Posted March 9, 2014 6-8lb mono X2. Or even 4# on a ML rod. I like mono. My spinning rods carry nothing over 8# unless it is braid. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 7lb Sunline FC Sniper fluorocarbon Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 16, 2014 Super User Posted March 16, 2014 I use 6 - 8 pound mono on my spinning gear, occasionally 10 on some but generally if I'm throwing anything over 8 pound line I use casting gear. Quote
