Creekcrappie Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 What are the difference between these and regular ewgs? http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-8482-super-lock-single-worm-hooks-25-pack/pid-412251?N=310008598+4294966997 Thanks in advance! Quote
Bass Junkie Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Heavier wire is the only difference you'll notice. Quote
mmrivera86 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 You'll definitely want to use a stronger rod with the super lock. being that it's a thicker hook, a "M" rod will have a harder time penetrating and getting a solid hook set as a medium heavy rod would. Quote
Wbeadlescomb Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 As sharp as those hooks are you won't have a hard time penetrating a fishes mouth. I caught a 6 lb bass swimming an ultravibe speed craw on an ultralight with 4lb test last year with that hook. Can't count the number of fish I caught out of my ponds on that same setup Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 8, 2014 Super User Posted March 8, 2014 Look at the shank up around the bend. The one in the pic you're asking about looks as though it has a bit more curve to it then the regular EWG hooks do. At least that's what I can tell from the website pic. Quote
