Had a cuda take a jack from my hand as I was releasing it once, way to close to my hand, luckily, I can still count to 10... 1 Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted March 6, 2014 Super User Posted March 6, 2014 Wow that's incredible. "Don't put me back in there with that thing!" Northerns are so aggressive it's crazy. Quote
Mike2841 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I've never seen that, but I have had a hawk swoop down and take a freshly released bass about 30ft from my boat. Quote
ColdSVT Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 You should see the bloodbath when you release a 120-130lb tarpon only to have a 12ft hammerhead bite it right in half...the shark missed me by less than two feet...i needed some new shorts after that Quote
Tylertut Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 When wading once I had a huge smallmouth latch onto the side of a 1.5 lb smallmouth I was reeling in. He had to have been 6 lbs. when the smaller fish was released he darted straight for the shallows. I was hoping to catch 7.5 lbs of fish at once. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 8, 2014 Super User Posted March 8, 2014 caught a trout fishing for bass on a senko, and when I threw it back it was quickly chased down by a pack of bass and consumed. Now I fish swimbaits. 1 Quote
Shane Procell Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Last week on a charter trip. My client says hey I got a better fish on. I look at his line and see a dink. I tell him thats a tiny fish. He says no the bigger fish is below. The I see it. It was a 6 1/2 lb bass on the end of the line. So a little bass ate his senko, then he set the hook and the larger bass ate the dink bass. It was pretty cool. 1 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 8, 2014 Super User Posted March 8, 2014 yeah, I should have done that with that trout, it had a 4/0 skipgap hook in it's mouth, I'm sure that would have worked just fine had I just left the trout in the water, but didn't know that was gonna happen. Quote
gobig Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 That is a great example of how prey gets pinned and becomes vulnerable. I have had bass literally almost beach themselves to get wakebaits. There are some good lessons there if ya look. Quote
scrutch Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I watched a Hank Parker episode of him catching a smallmouth on St. Claire and the line got really heavy. He thought he hooked a sturgeon. When he got it up to the boat, it was a 50+ inch musky that had bitten his 3lb smallie. The musky finally let go as Hank leaned over the side of the boat! Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 9, 2014 Super User Posted March 9, 2014 I caught this little guy on a 13" smallmouth that I was reeling in. I managed to get it in the net without even getting a hook in him. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201418563858496&l=07844f0a6b 1 Quote
