Blues19 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I live an hour away from a Bass Pro but I will be in town on the 15th and think its probably too good of a deal a Curado for 100. Dont have a Curado, but my Cousin loves his, however I think its the model before this. How nice is the G? Is it a good enough price to think about getting a 2nd? Thanks yall. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 They have taken a lot of flake by the nay sayers, but at the same time you will find anglers who use them and say they are a pretty good reel. Your call I guess. Quote
Wbeadlescomb Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I like my 200g's especially for a 100 the biggest complaint I see is because they have a graphite side plate and the drag star isn't aluminum. But this doesn't effect me. I've never broken a side plate or a drag star before....... Quote
rmcguirk Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I have one and I like it a lot. I can't compare it to the E, as I've never held one. I know many people love the E, and lament the changes to the G. But, tor $100, I think its a great buy. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted March 6, 2014 Super User Posted March 6, 2014 Seems to me the biggest complaint has been, not so much the reels, but the price. Notice, now that they can be had for $100.00 even some of the critics are jumping on them. And as Martha Stewart says, "that's a good thing". Hootie Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 6, 2014 Super User Posted March 6, 2014 For $100 it's a super duper deal! I own Gs, Es, and a B. All great! I'd get 2 if you can. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 There is nothing "wrong" with the G series Curado. The controversy stems from the marketing decision to keep the Curado label at a <$200 price point. $100 is 33% discount off msrp. It's a lot of reel for the clearance price. Another good value is the BPS PQ at $70 on sale Quote

Well maybe not for a huge chain like bass pro. Quote
