buckeye_bass66 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 So I've been using crankbaits ever since I've been fishing but it seems to me that I only catch bass on cranks in farm ponds. I have yet to land a bass on any lake with a crank. Maybe it the color or the dive or something but I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I resort to a spinnerbait which seems to me yields more bass than crankbaits. Am I doing something wrong? Am I using cranks in the wrong situation at the wrong place and time? What do you guys think? SpencerLittle Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Where and how are you using them? I like them a lot around wood cover. Running them into and bouncing off stumps is a great way to get a reaction strike. They are also great around riprap banks and any point really. 1 Quote

Super User iceintheveins Posted March 6, 2014 Super User Posted March 6, 2014 I too have more luck on spinnerbaits than cranks, but often that's a produce of the waters I fish where there isn't as much cover to bang a crank off of which is REALLY important in crankbait fishing in triggering a strike. Not to say they don't work for bass around here because they do. Quote
