No way I can compare to that!! That's amazing! Kinda like those guys who fish 2lb test for sailfish.... I'm thinking it was a 6lb bass on 6lb test line a few years back. Quote

That right there is a work out! I hook one in the 20lb range on a 6 weight with a hopper fly. After about half an hour my wrist and forearm were aching so bad I just broke the line. If I was a better fly caster it looks like a blast to sight cast to them when they're tailing and feeding on cottonseed and grass clippings. I'm sure I could catch them when the berries are dropping, but that's almost not even fair. Quote

I have never had the pleasure of catching them on the "mulberry" hatch as they call it but i have caught them while feeding on top twice and it is a blast. The one i mentioned was at a pond of maybe 5-7 acres that you could almost walk all the way around and he got me well into my backing 2 or 3 times. it was more of let him do his thing and hope i could get him close enough to the shore to land him. He still had plenty of fight left in him when i released him and it was about a 45 minute or so fight. Never experienced anythign like it before except in salt water....it actually got me on a carp kick there for a while. Quote
