Hey guys, I'm taking a fishing trip over in lake Martin next week and it a the first time I've been to this lake. I've heard that it can be fishermans heaven and even if when I go it isn't, "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work." But im staying in a lake house that's on the water and is back in a creek and the water seems to be pretty clear. But is there any way you guys could help me out and tell me what spawn pattern the bass are following now. Are they bedded and in the spawn or because of recent cold fronts are they still following prespawn patterns and suspended up creek? If you could tell me what the cover is and the bait fish that are found in lake Martin and what strategies y'all find useful during prespawn around those covers.

Thanks

I have fished Lake Martin, close to Auburn Alabama, several times,.  It is a old compound with lots of Islands and Coves. We got lost for hours.  The huge deep coves would deadend and the small insignificant openings would be the river channel, very confusing.  Caught a few little bass, but not much luck overall.  I wish I could help you but the only advice I will give is, don't go far unless someone in the group  knows how to get home.  It all looks the same, especially when it starts to get dark.
