Rain isn't the problem, it's that damned Thunder part!

I don't mind the thunder.......its the lightning.

The thunder is what usually clues me into the lightning. :dazed-7:

Exactly, sorry if I wasn't clear...once I hear thunder, I'm like man!  Time to pack it in.

I don't mind the jet skis. Its the air headed operators and their little demon spawn which are often left to operate them underage without proper training or the common sense to ride right up on a man standing up in a boat rather than riding on the other side of the creek..

I don't mind rain.

I dont mind 10-15 mph wind.. its the gale force winds that I hate. That's a good way to burn up a trolling battery and A good way to see me to smoke two packs of marlboros trying to settle my aggravation.

Thunder and lightning is easy.. It doesn't bother me, ill find a boat slip or get off the water.

And anglers that won't even say hey to you, but the seem to follow you all over the lake... My thing is, wave me down, talk to me.. and don't seem so creepy.. I really don't mind. But you dont have to be a sneak.. you don't have to fish on top of me. Chances are if you pull up and talk to me, I can probably put u on a good pattern so u don't have to fish 75 yards behind me trying to see what I'm doing. Ill prbably tell you out right.

Last one is people at the ramp that do these two things.

1) come out of the prep lane and on the the ramp and then the spend 20 mins talking, and or prepping. Come on guys that's what the prep lane is for.

2) this one doesn't bother me that bad because normally they cant help it. But I hate trying to get out of the water when an obvious new boater or a person. Who has never done it before takes half an hour and nine attempts to trailer a boat. I'm just sitting there floating I. The no wake zone smoking an entire pack of Marlboros waiting impatiently.

Rant done.

Oh and one more..

Over animated guy. It annoys me to fish with this guy. Every pitch and skip or good cast has a sound effect or excalimation like "Bingo or boo ya!". And every little tap on his line brings out a "ah ah ah, " and not like the rest of us...it over exaggerated in way that's annoying.

I've been known to rock the boat on a hookset, but this guy will take a step back while simultaneously twisting and uppercutting the rod and he exclaims OMG! Got em! Its a toad man its a toad! Every single fish or miss is like a skit from SNL.

Now my rant is done.

Only 2 things ~ and they both revolve around Old Mr. Northern Pike.

1).  When you get the strike and you set the hook, and the rod hits you right in the face - because a darn snot rocket has bitten you off - again.

2).  A 10 pound pike with a face full of treble hooks just losing its mind in the net.  Knowing at some point I have to get my bait back amongst all that insanity . . . .

What I don't mind: Not getting to fish enough.

Wind has been my friend fishing...just have to approach things different.

I guess if I had to pick the bad part of fishing it would be the rude summertime boaters and all their attributes. Sometimes it just amazes me how long they can hold their breath when their head is up their @!#$.

Having to go home ...

1. Walleye fishing. I'd rather stay home and paint my house.

2. Getting snagged on a dock you KNOW has fish under it and then spooking them while you are getting your lure back.

3. Loosing expensive baits

4. Heavily pressured water.

Wind and 100* sun beating down on your neck and shoulders. Cant stand either one. LOL

Pike bite offs, Excessive winds, annoying jet skiers, and other fisherman who cut you off. I'm ok with sharing water as long as you don't come screaming in 50 yards in front of me and start fishing or anchor up on the best spot that i'm within 2 cast lengths.

I don´t know but I got this sensation that you hate water/jet skiers..... dunno, I could be wrong but  I still think I´m right in my suposition. :eyebrows:

I have a strong hatred for jet skis after having some fool crossed my line in shallow water and stripped about 100 yards of 50lb braid and a squarebill off my reel and into his jet. I got the last laugh though, seems his jet ski had to visit the mechanic and was inoperable for the rest of the summer!

Also have to agree with everyone saying the wind, that is just a pain to fish in.

It's not - That's the size that seems to be The Meanest !  The smaller ones I can usually grab behind the head and handle OK and the bigger ones do most of their work while on the end of the line so once in the net they are manageable.

But there's something about that mid size fish - just seems to have some reserve energy - where they are just bound & determined to stick a hook in your hand . . . .

Most of the Jet skis in my home lake are very discourteous to everyone else.......I know not all jet skiers are that way.......but I am getting closer to, "if it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck".................well then........................................................................it must be a fluckemaster! :hahaha-024:

I know what you mean. I had three accidental 10+ lb pike catches last year. One was certainly enough. Cut up hands and a slime colored boat after 5 minutes wrangling with it might not be worth it.

Unfortunately I feel the same way about many bass boaters.

I hate bass fishing in muck, slime, heavy vegetation and lily pads.  I love fighting a fish, but a tug of war with a plant, ain't for me anymore.

Wind I like, helps to keep the bugs away, tells me what species I'm going to target and where I'm going to go.  I hate casting into busting fish that are so fast by the time your lure gets there, they are gone.  I hate castnets and bait fishermen.  I can't say I hate people that analyze every 30 seconds, carry 20 rods and 12 tackle bags, because I wouldn't fish with them in the first place.  I hate people from the NE corridor that all they can talk about are stripers ( like there aren't any fish in Florida worth catching), then they catch their first jack or tarpon and STFU, I love that.

I might be one of the only guys who actually likes wind, and almost the more the better up to about 30-40 Mph and also depending on the lake. The wind makes boat control a problem, but catching is almost never a problem in wind, you just have to use a moving bait...

There are more than one, but the wind is always a pain.

It is unfortunate but some other fishermen.  I don't *** anyone there big fancy boat.  I have what I want and enjoy it.  But, it seems like there are some of the big bass boat owners that are just arrogant jerks.  They go by, closely, with the attitude that theirs is bigger and more expensive so, if your boat can't take the wake theirs makes you shouldn't be on the same water with them.  My boat is plenty big enough and capable of handling the wake if I see it coming in time to get the boat turned into the wake.  These guys, though, I think are the same ones that are arrogant anywhere you see them, gas station, restaurant, store, on the road, launch ramp  or anywhere else you may have to interact with them.

I guess I'm just too old school.  There used to be mutual respect and consideration regardless of income or social status.  Not anymore.  The attitude seems to be, I have more than you and therefore you are of no consideration to me.

I often think that when we are laying side by side, on cold slabs, now who's the hotshot that is better than anyone else.

Just my rant, and I have made the same rant, out LOUD, at the launch ramp, once in a while.
