Super User Goose52 Posted January 22, 2011 Super User Posted January 22, 2011 Anyone had any experience with these spinnerbait boxes yet? You can get them in 3700 and 3600 form factors, instead of the older-style "cube" type boxes. The only down-side that I see is that the baits are stored with the metal arm & blades bent down and secured in that lowered position. Just wondering if there will be any long-term effect on the arms. I'm thinking probably not with a quality spinnerbait but I probably shouldn't put my WalMart SBs in there... ;D Quote
OHIO Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I have one and I am pleased with it. I haven't seen any effects on my spinnerbaits. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 22, 2011 Super User Posted January 22, 2011 I use the wallet, no issues in three years. Quote
B-Dozer Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I use a CD holder/wallet. Wally world about $3.00 Quote
WanderLust Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I use a wallet as well. Works better as I use a backpack as my main tacklebox. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 22, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 22, 2011 I use the wallet, no issues in three years. Thanks. Does that wallet have the same retention system as the 3600/3700 form factor boxes? I use a CD holder/wallet. Wally world about $3.00 I use a wallet as well. River Rat316 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I have the buzz bait wallet, and its pretty good, only thing with the wallets is you sometime zip up the skirts in there. I am redoing my spinnerbait storage and am going to go with 2 of these http://www.***.com/Falcon_FTO_701_Spinnerbait_Organizer/descpage-FTO701.html It should come close to holding my spinnerbaits, I haven't counted them in awhile but I hope that I am not that hopeless that I have over 60 ;D Quote
Texasfishingtips Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I use the spinnerbait/buzzbait box to hold them. I took out the buzz bait part and use it as extra worm storage. Clancy W Quote

Thanks O H I O, looks like you're the only one so far that has one. I've standardized on 3600 boxes and that's the model I'm considering - it holds 18 SBs which should be enough for me. Quote
BrASSmonkey Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I have the Falcon spinnerbait/buzzbait tackle organizer and I could not be happier with it I used to have the cube spinner boxes and was not satisfied with how bulky they, how the cooks tangled and the rather limited capacity. I find that the Falcon holds many mor spinnerbaits in a form factorthat suits me well. Ihave not noticed any negative impacts on the spinnerbaits either. Great system. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 23, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 23, 2011 Thanks for the feedback. Quote
TBendBassin Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I have one and do not like it at all.. it does not hold the spinnerbaits in place they fall out of the little slits. If you fishing from shore it would be great though. I filled mine up then made a short 15min boat ride on the Bend and when i went to get them out not one was in the little slot!! The falcon boxes do have the best latching system out of any box though Quote

There was one review on the BPS web site that was similar to yours, but other reviews that were positive. I would be mostly using this box on the water, not on the bank.........but my canoe tops out at about 5.5mph with the trolling motor and it's a pretty smooth ride so maybe I'll be OK.... ;D Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 25, 2011 I have had the same issue. Thanks. Sorta mixed reviews on this box. I will probably get the 3600 box and give it a try...but these boxes are a bit spendy so I hope it works out. I don't jiggle the boxes around much so maybe I'll be OK. Like I just said, I have a pretty smooooooooth (and slow) ride with my canoe (although there was that one time when I was out too long and had a lot of whitecaps on the water as I was trying to get back to my launch point... ). ;D Quote
OHIO Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 After reading the comments about the spinnerbaits falling out, I went and got my box and gave it a nice shake. I shook it pretty hard and spun it around in the air a couple times. All of mine were still in their original places when I was finished and I haven't seen any boat flip tackle boxes, so I think you'll be good. ;D Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 25, 2011 Lol, if my canoe moved the box around as much as you just did, I wouldn't have to worry about the SBs getting loose, I'd be swimming............. ;D Quote
gobig Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I wonder if its certain sizes or brands of spinnerbaits that don't stay in place. Most of mine are wareagle and they go from 3/8oz up to 3/4 oz. Quote
Bassyak Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I have the Falcon Spinnerbait and Buzzbait boxes and haven't had any issues with them at all. Baits stay in place (even when they're standing on their edge and I'm blasting across the lake at a blistering 35mph) and no adverse effects noticed due to bending the wires down. The only complaint I had was the size, which was shorter and wider than the standard Plano sizes and wouldn't fit in my tackle bags. But it looks like Plano has solved that problem. I solved it by just leaving them in my storage locker on my boat. I carry a little plastic Flambeau case that holds 6 or so when I'm in my kayak. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 25, 2011 Super User Posted January 25, 2011 I only carry 1 or 2 spinnerbaits at a time, I just hang them from my belt loop. I like doing things simple and it works good for me. Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 25, 2011 Thanks for all the replies. I will put one of the 3600 SB boxes on my shopping list. No hurry, now I have to wait for someone to have a sale... Quote
big t 4488 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 mine bent one of my spinner baits believe it was a little oversized to fit into one Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted January 25, 2011 Super User Posted January 25, 2011 I don't have any of the newer Elite series boxes, but I do have two of the original Falcon spinnerbait boxes and one spinner/buzzbait box. All three have been excellent. No problems with the baits coming loose. No problems with damaged baits. No problems with durability of the boxes or latches. I paid full retail for them, and would not hesitate to do so again. Quote
