Super User Fishes in trees Posted March 4, 2014 Super User Posted March 4, 2014 I'm going to focus a little more on finesse this year. Brewer sliders & Ned rigs (research the In-fisherman web site for more info on Ned rigs) I'm going to try to hone my deductive skills this year, so that I spend more time fishing and less time searching. I've got a decent frog rig, but I didn't use it much last year. This year I am going to buy a better set of frogs and spend a little more time fishing in the slop (mid summer goal.) Fishing deeper grass beds is a weakness of mine. I'd like to get better at fishing the deeper grass beds. Quote
doyle8218 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I just wanna go fishing. Now that's what it is all about. Quote
Preytorien Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 My goal is to be productive with jigs more this year than ever. I've got a box full of Siebert jigs and RageTails....so i'm set! I feel that I've done an astute job of learning the craft of frogging. I love fishing slop and heavy cover, I'm not an open-water guy. So I'd like to focus on those presentations. Punching, jig, etc. I don't have a weight specifically, but I usually like to break my previous personal best by a pound, so this year I'll be searching for a 6-pounder. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted March 4, 2014 Super User Posted March 4, 2014 LM: 10 lbs (might be a little unrealistic because I live up north. My current PB is over 5) SM: 6 lbs (my current PB stands at 5.1) Northern Pike: 20 lbs. (current PB is over 10) Quote
dreamertino Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Get better at tournament fishing. Its hard for me to get a limit. Also to build confidence with spinnerbaits and jerkbaits. Quote
FrogFreak Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 This year I'm going to try and accomplish the following: Let the circumstances tell me what to throw. Spend some time graphing my local lake to find the spots within the spots. Get better on a punch rig and a jig (when it's appropriate, see number 1 above) Fish further into the fall but still duck hunt Fish from my kayak more often in some out of the way places Catch a fish on one of the lures I built!!! grizzgreen18 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 beat my personal best LM of 3lbs get confidence in crankbaits and spinnerbaits (actually achieved my goal of gaining confidence in plastics and jigs from last year) catch a SM that i can actually say is a personal best get a boat (and maybe a house so i can store it there instead of my buddies property) Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted March 5, 2014 Super User Posted March 5, 2014 My fishing goals are the same this year as they were last year...NONE. Just gonna' go and enjoy my time on the water this year... -T9 1 Quote
